December 2016 NPD: NES Classic Edition sells 223,000 units in the U.S.

In November, the NES Classic Edition sold 196,000 units in the United States. The hardware had another strong month in December. According to the NPD, NES Classic Edition sales rose by 14 percent. That puts it at just over 223,000 units sold.
Sales should tail off this month if only due to a lack of availability. Hopefully Nintendo manages to get more stock out in the near future.

NPD Group has released a listing of the top ten best-selling games in the U.S. for the month of December 2016. The results can be found below.
December 2016 NPD: Sales for Pokemon Sun/Moon top four million, fastest games in Nintendo’s history to do so

Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon have sold over four million copies in the United States, Nintendo announced today. The two specifically stand at 4.5 million since launching in late November. Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon were also the second and third best-selling games during the month of December as reported by NPD.
Nintendo also said today that the last quarter of 2016 was the “best-selling quarter for software in Nintendo 3DS history”. 7.3 million copies of first-party Nintendo games were sold during that period. For the seventh month in a row, sales grew year-over-year thanks to the likes of Pokemon, Super Mario Maker, and evergreen titles such as Mario Kart 7.
