Last week, Famitsu revealed Alien Syndrome and Columns as the latest additions in SEGA 3D Fukkoku Archives 3: Final Stage. We now have a few tidbits about what will be included as features.
First, here are a bunch of screenshots from both:
With Alien Syndrome, a new element is two-player co-op via local wireless. Interim Save, Interim Load, Replay, and Round Select are all included. With Round Select, you’re able to start from the last cleared round, though it isn’t available in local play.
Alien Syndrome lets players choose from five difficulty levels. With the lowest one, enemies will not shoot bullets and have reduced health. There’s also a Time Limit feature in which you’re able to choose from six levels, two of which were not available in the original version.

SEGA, Atlus, Bandai Namco and more comment on the Nintendo Switch
Posted on 8 years ago by Zack in Switch | 14 Comments
Following in the trend set by Bethesda, several major game publishers and developers have commented on the Nintendo Switch, but refrained from revealing specific details about any projects.
IGN has organized the comments about the Nintendo Switch made by the many different publishers and developers into an article on their site, and have rounded up some noteworthy comments. While most of these are as similarly vague as the comments made by Bethesda and Ubisoft, it’s impressive to see so much support from third parties for the Switch.
A representative from SEGA had this to say about the Nintendo Switch:
SEGA and Nintendo have been great partners over the years, and we continue to with our support of the Nintendo Switch. We look forward to revealing specific game plans soon, but have nothing further to announce at this time
From Altus:
We’re excited to be supporting the Nintendo Switch and believe the games we publish are a perfect fit for the portable nature of the console

Former SEGA of America CEO says Sonic’s “downward cycle” isn’t abnormal, similar to other big franchises
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 53 Comments
Sonic the Hedgehog was one of the most iconic video game characters during the SEGA Genesis days, but he’s had a tough time over the past several years. Former SEGA of America CEO Tom Kalinske weighed in on the situation in this month’s issue of Game Informer, explaining that it’s not entirely unnatural.
Kalinske feels that Sonic’s “downward cycle” is part of the “natural up and down for any character.” He compared the situation to other big franchises like Star Wars. After being on the decline for some time, Kalinske says that it’s now time for Sonic “to have an upward cycle again”.
As Kalinske stated:
“I think there is some natural up and down for any character. We’ve certainly seen it with the Marvel characters over the years. We’ve seen it with Barbie. We’ve seen it with Star Wars. We’ve seen it with G.I. Joe and Hot Wheels. All of these brands have had their cycles. I think Sonic has had a downward cycle for a while, and it’s time to have an upward cycle again for a while.”
Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Puyo Puyo Chronicle: details on the story and characters + new screenshots
Posted on 8 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in 3DS, News, Screenshots | 0 comments
The latest entry in the Puyo Puyo series, Puyo Puyo Chronicle, was recently announced in Japan. Today, SEGA published some details on the game’s story and characters.
Arle and Carbunble’s day-to-day life in Primp Town is suddenly interrupted when a mysterious book falls from the sky that transports the two of them to a strange new world. Together with a girl called Allie, Arle and Carbuncle go on a journey through that new world to find a way back to their own.
Allie calls Arle a hero – the reason for that is that a prophecy exists in that world which speaks of a girl with a ponytail wearing a white and blue-colored outfit, accompanied by a yellow creature who one day arrive from another world to save this one. Of course, this pretty much exactly applies to Arle and Carbuncle.
On their journey, the three of them venture into a place called Grimp Forest where there is supposedly a girl wearing a Puyo on her head. That girl turns out to be Amitie – who, like Arle and Carbuncle, is from Primp Town and who is not supposed to be in this strange new world. Draco Centaur, Arle’s rival, is also encountered by the group and joins them after being defeated – it seems like there are several familiar faces in this new world.
Finally, take a look at some new screenshots:
