At the Tokyo Game Show a couple of weeks ago, SEGA held a stage show for SEGA Ages. It was here that the next game in the series, Virtua Racing, was announced. The results of the fan popularity poll were also revealed in which Jet Set Radio took the top spot. The presentation had some interesting information that we thought was worth sharing.

SEGA Ages producer Kagasei Shimomura came out and said: “Jet Set Radio coming first in the most-wanted games poll for the SEGA Ages doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll get a port,” but he still wants to “meet fans expectations.” Famitsu attributes its popularity in the poll to composer Hideki Naganuma calling for fans worldwide to vote for it.

Valkyria Chronicles 4

Initial data from this week’s UK software sales are in, providing interesting information about the debut of Valkyria Chronicles 4. It ended up at the ninth position in its first week on the all formats chart. Valkyria Chronicles 4 sold the most on PlayStation 4 at 54%, but Switch wasn’t too far behind at 39% while Xbox One followed last at 7%.

FIFA 19 appeared at the top of the charts in its first week. Unsurprisingly, Switch wasn’t really a factor here as was the case in 2017. The platform breakdown was 64% for the PS4, 35% for Xbox One, and 1% for Switch.

We’ll have more information from the latest UK charts when Chart-Track fully updates tomorrow.

Prior to the Tokyo Game Show last week, a fan poll was held to determine the most wanted SEGA Ages games for Switch. Jet Set Radio topped the list, but right behind it was Shenmue I & II. While both of these titles were just recently re-released on modern platforms, Switch was left out of the equation. Perhaps that could that change in the future.

4Gamer interviewed localization director Hiroji Noguchi and localization producer Eigo Kasahara around TGS. The site brought up the interest in seeing Shenmue on Switch, and neither of them shot down the possibility. In fact, bringing Shenmue to Switch is something Kasahara would like to consider.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 was originally supposed to have a separate Japanese voice pack on Switch yesterday. That didn’t happen, but SEGA has addressed the issue and the free DLC is now available to download.

Switching between languages is very easy. If you’d like to change the voices to Japanese (or back into English), just visit the options menu.
