Sonic Frontiers Showdown

SEGA is back with another Sonic Frontiers trailer titled “Showdown”. The video gives us a little glimpse of the story, shows off plenty of gameplay, and more. The core of the title revolves around exploring the Starfall Islands, collecting the Chaos Emeralds, and getting prepared “for the showdown of a lifetime”.

Sonic Frontiers Ares Island

SEGA isn’t slowing down on the soundtrack previews for Sonic Frontiers, and has now offered fans a chance to listen to “Ares Island” – a place where there’s “an ocean of sand as far as the eye can see.” Aside from the music itself, we also get a look at the recording session.

Tomoya Ohtani handled the composition and arrangement. Takeshi Watanabe was also did co-arranging.

Sonic Frontiers Zelda Breath of the Wild

Sonic Frontiers has drawn some comparisons to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild since its initial reveal, but Sonic boss Takashi Iizuka has indicated that the two are “not similar at all”.

Iizuka’s comments came about during an interview with Shacknews. When asked if the team was inspired by Breath of the Wild, he said:

Sonic Frontiers Cyber Space DJ Mix

SEGA is offering another preview of the Sonic Frontiers soundtrack with another piece of music, “Cyber Space DJ Mix”. Tomoya Ohtani was in charge of the arrangement and composition. 

Sonic Frontiers will be largely open zone. However, players can also enter Cyber Space levels which feature the kind of 3D platforming levels the series was known for previously.

Sonic Frontiers combat trailer

A new trailer has come online for Sonic Frontiers that gives a closer look at the game’s combat. This is an area of gameplay that SEGA reworked for this entry and it’s now a greater focus compared to past titles.

Dodges, parries, counters, combos, and the new Cyloop ability are all a part of combat, and the game even has a skill tree. Aside from smaller enemies, there are also huge titans to take on.

Sonic Frontiers Monster Hunter DLC

Original: Monster Hunter DLC has been announced for Sonic Frontiers, with SEGA just making the announcement moments ago.

Unfortunately, we’re mostly lacking information at present. SEGA says that the DLC is going live on November 14 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET for free.

Sonic Frontiers Soap Shoes

SEGA has a new offer in place that will let players obtain Soap Shoes for Sonic Frontiers.

To get involved, you’ll need to sign up for the official newsletter by January 31, 2023 and share your name, date of birth, country, and preferred platform. Fans can enter their details, and they’ll be provided with a code after the game’s launch via email. Additional information will follow later on regarding specifics about the in-game content and how to redeem the code.

Sonic Frontiers Super Sonic bosses

SEGA has spoken more about Super Sonic in Sonic Frontiers and what that form means for the game.

Earlier in the week, we got our first look at Super Sonic thanks to a new trailer revealed at the 2022 Tokyo Game Show. Director Morio Kishimoto has now indicated that there will be bosses in the game that “blue Sonic can’t even scratch” before the power-up is unlocked.

Sonic Frontiers fishing Big the Cat

Back when we published our Sonic Frontiers hands-on preview a few months ago, we noted that the title would include a fishing mini-game. An off-screen video has now surfaced that provides a bit of footage, including a look at Big the Cat who we haven’t seen until now.

It’s assumed that the video was recorded at Gamescom 2022 last month. Sonic Frontiers was playable at an expo for the first time, giving many fans a hands-on opportunity.
