Splatoon 3 OLED system and Switch Pro Controller revealed

Original (7/6): Nintendo will release a new Splatoon 3 OLED system and Switch Pro Controller, the company announced today.
The system will release first on August 26, featuring design inspiration from the game. It includes includes a set of one blue and one yellow gradient Joy-Con controllers with white underbellies and a white, graffiti-themed Nintendo Switch dock. Note that Splatoon 3 is not included. The whole package will set you back $359.99.

Splatoon 3 reveals Mincemeat Metalworks stage

Nintendo has revealed a new stage for Splatoon 3, with fans now being able to get a first look at Mincemeat Metalworks.
In a tweet published today, it’s stated that the level “was made from scrap metal in order to make more scrap metal.” The area previously had a sea there, “but it evaporated, leaving behind a wasteland.”

Nintendo have introduced a new band for Splatoon 3, Damp Socks feat. Off the Hook. This is a reformed variation of recurring band Off the Hook featuring the Squid Sisters Pearl and Marina along with three new currently unnamed members. Splatoon 3 reveals Undertow Spillway stage

Nintendo has revealed a major detail about Splatoon 3, as we now have a look at a new stage known as Undertow Spillway.
According to Nintendo, the area “is a former flood bypass located deep under Splatsville.” While it was previous abandoned, “it surged in popularity after it was renovated into a stage for Turf War batlles”.

Splatoon 3 introduces Front Roe

Nintendo has introduced another band for Splatoon 3: Front Roe. The Big N describes them as “melodious” and having a “punkish sound of rock”, noting that they’ve “been swimming up the charts in Splatsville lately.”

Splatoon 3 seemingly will support cloud saves, but the situation is a bit tricky.
Fans started discussing the possibility of cloud saves after looking at the game’s updated page on Nintendo’s North American website. In addition to online play, the listing clearly states that cloud saves are supported for Switch Online members.

Nintendo’s drip feed of Splatoon 3 news continues, and the Big N has now provided a look at the game’s “charger” weapons.
These weapons, which build up power, can be used by pressing and holding ZR. You’ll then perform a powerful shot that can hit targets that are far away.

Splatoon 3 will feature all of the basic weapons from previous games in the series, Nintendo has confirmed. That bit of information was published on the game’s official Twitter account just a short while ago.
Over the past few days, Nintendo has been sharing other tidbits as well. For example, fans have been introduced to the Splattershot, Splattershot Jr., .96 Gal, Triple Inkstrike, and Ink Vac. You can read more about these weapons and other information below.

Splatoon is a fascinating franchise to look at. Coming from a company that has the biggest names in the industry, it’s impressive how fast the series managed to get the same success of other IPs with three games already in the span of eight years.
In today’s video, I wanted to reflect in the aging process of the franchise, looking at how new and fresh the game looked on Wii U and how the series has evolved since that.
