Wii Fit U has been updated. The patch addresses issues relating to data transfer from Wii Fit/Wii Fit Plus, and also corrects problems in which data recorded by the Fit Meter is not properly reflected when transferred to the game itself.

Despite a massive pile of listener mail this week, we manage to wrangle the podcast length down to 135 minutes compared to last week’s 180 minute unfinished monster. It’s also a really solid podcast! What we played: Call of Duty: Ghosts, Wii Fit U, Sonic: Lost World, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies. No discussion topic, but a LOT of listener mail rounds this out!

Some users have been expereicning lock up issues with Wii Fit U due to issues stemming from Wii Fit/Wii Fit Plus save transfers.

At the very least, Nintendo is aware of the situation. The Big N says you may encounter problems if any of the following conditions are met:

Two or more sets of user data were created in Wii Fit or Wii Fit Plus and the data created earlier was deleted.

A Mii character used in Wii Fit or Wii Fit Plus is registered in the Wii U Mii Maker.

The data from Wii Fit or Wii Fit Plus is transferred to the Wii U.

One would hope that a patch is already in the works. Hopefully we’ll see an update soon!

Thanks to Tytygh for the tip.

Nintendo has finally released Wii Fit U as an eShop download today. You can download the software and keep it free for 31 days. Balance Board owners can then obtain the full experience, permanently, by picking up the Fit Meter for $20.

Now, how big a download is Wii Fit U? It’ll vary between regions, but you’ll need roughly 3,522MB of space on your system or hard drive.
