Looks like MegaMan… Smells like MegaMan… But it’s not MegaMan.

We have heard an almost obscene amount of Kickstarter gaming projects announce their support for Wii U if certain funding goals are met, but today we’ve got one for you from a developer that has recently been in the news:

Yacht Club Games was formed just recently by former members of the studio behind Mighty Switch Force!, WayForward Studios. Their first game will be called Shovel Knight, and it focuses on sidescrolling action, helmed by a knight who wields a “ShovelBlade” to destroy enemies. Sounds pretty decent, right? After all, we know these folks can make a mean platformer.

Initial news was that the game would be for PC only, but the game’s Kickstarter page says that if they hit their fundraising goal of $75,000, the game will make its way to 3DS and Wii U as well. Additionally, you can pledge $15 right now to “reserve” yourself a copy of the game on 3DS or Wii U when it comes out this coming September, so it’s almost like you’re just buying the game in advance!

The magazine ‘Dengeki Playstation’ has been around for quite some time now, but apparently its publisher is looking to expand its horizons. Starting this April, ASCII Media will begin putting out “Dengeki Nintendo”, a similar publication focused on the efforts of the Big N instead of the Sony.

The first issue hits store shelves on April 20th and will feature Monster Hunter 4.

People like putting copyrighted material onto the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad– that’s not terribly surprising on any given day. What’s surprising about the story we have today is that our perpetrators hid the copyrighted material inside of an app that helps you generate names for your baby called “Awesome Baby Names”.

The app has since been removed, but while it was up users could pay $1.99 for it, and if they knew the secret tapping combination the emulator would boot up and give you access to many of the GBA’s best games in ROM form. Reports are that it wasn’t a very good emulator, however, citing control issues and graphical glitches all around that made it not terribly fun to play.

I think this looks really awesome, honestly! Having the boxart of all those games, true to their original shape/size, would feel so awesome. Not to mention how satisfying it would be to fill up those shelves!

Wii U owners are lucky in a certain respect. Despite the fact that big name multiplatform titles appear to be skipping their console altogether, they have the distinct honor of being able to choose, via Kickstarter, what indie titles they want to come to their system in the future. The latest in the online trend to bring indie games to Wii U is a game called Slashear, which has players running around smashing rabbits that are dressed up as famous movie characters with a baseball bat.

Here’s a video to make up for my poor describing abilities:

If you want to consider putting your money towards the game’s $64,000 Wii U goal (or its PC goal of $48K), you can check out its Kickstarter page here.

Here we go: I’ve finally given in to your demands and jumped right back into the uber-crazy ‘Back in Time’ glitch from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Last time we explored it, we ended up in twilight-realm Kakariko Village playing as human Link, but the game froze when we went inside of a house and then left. This time? Stuff gets even crazier, which is hard to believe considering how ridiculous last time was.

You gotta admit, this one’s shaping up pretty dang well.

Note: I’m not 100% sure that we’ll be recording the podcast today, but I’m putting this up just in case. Vote away!

This is a two question survey that requires no signing up, accounts, clicking through ads, or anything. Just answer a required question, answer a non-required question (if you want) and make your voice heard in yet another NintendoEverything reader survey poll thing! Results will be read in the form of our top ten list on the next podcast, and if you opted to answer the written question your answer could be read on the show! So don’t say anything ridiculous.

Thanks very much. As stated above the question for you guys this week is “Which Wii U exclusive games are you looking forward to the most?”

Take the survey here! (more details inside if you’re confused)

Following the lead of several other UK retailers, Amazon.co.uk has taken £50 off of the price of the Wii U Basic Set and the Deluxe Set, pricing them at £199 and £249 respectively. More than likely this is in response to slow sales, and the product providers simply want to free up shelf space that’s being used up by Wii Us that aren’t selling. It’s unclear whether this price cut will be permanent or temporary, or whether more shops will follow suit.

According to CVG, the trade price (that is, the “wholesale” price) of a Wii U is roughly £205, which means these folks are all selling the system at a loss.
