Level-5 has updated the Time Travelers website with some meaty content. It was essentially in a teaser state prior to today.

You can access the site here.

The site has brought along a bunch of details (just a few are old), which we’ve summarized below.

– Year 2031: Humans have mad a 2000 meter “Space Elevator” in Tokyo Bay
– “Lost Hole” disaster destroys the city 18 years later
– People are able to recover quickly from this
– Tokyo becoming a larger and more modern city
– Game begins with announcer Hina Fushimi interviewing the once great scientist Kyugo Shindo
– Research facility the two students are in suffers an explosion during the interview
– Result could be a 50 kilometer blast zone if the explosions continue
– Mikoto: A high school girl who appears before each of the five main characters. Each character encounters a slightly different Mikoto, with different clothing and atmosphere.
– Five versions of Mikoto
– Hina Fushimi: An idol female announcer who’s out for the scoop on the mysterious terrorist known as Dokuro the Beast.
– Yuri Fukase: A top student who has a major secret a past incident.
– Soma Kamiya: A top detective with the police. His wife and children are taken hostage, and he’s ordered to perform a terrorist act. Does he choose to save his family, or the residents of Tokyo?
– Kyugo Shindo: A once great physicist who defrauded people of investment money claiming that he was making a time machine.
– Ressentiment: This thirty-year-old’s father stopped giving him his allowance, and his girlfriend of five years broke up with him. He refers to himself as a hero.
– “Full voice, full motion” drama mentioned on the site
– Quick Timer Event system included

The images above were apparently taken from a recent Wii U GlobalTestMarket survey. Most of the “concept” shots have already been demonstrated in video form, but they’re interesting nonetheless.

Arguably the most important survey capture is the final shot in the gallery, which asks the user if he/she would purchase a Wii U for $300. Maybe it’s a sign of things to come for the console’s final price, assuming the survey is the real deal.

Renegade Kid’s Jools Watsham is at it again with another large update about the company’s projects. In the video blog above, Watsham discusses Mutant Mudds 2 (which is practically a lock for 2013), release time frames for already-announced games, new ideas (such as a new 2D platformer), and more.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise given the multiplayer nature of Killer Freaks, but it looks like we have a confirmation that Ubisoft’s shooter will include online play.

Senior software engineer Olivier Cado is currently working on the possible Wii U launch title. In his LinkedIn profile, he Cado listed his role as an online/multiplayer programmer.

Surely we’ll receive more details about Killer Freaks during E3 next month.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Square Enix’s Bravely Default is a great-looking 3DS game. The company released a new batch of screenshots today, and even though the images are low-quality, we’re not concerned about the title’s visuals

You can find all of the new shots in the gallery above.

After the 3DS’ inital rocky start, it’s pretty amazing to see how quickly the system has managed to turn around. The 3DS has been doing very well since last year’s price drop, reaching sales goals left and right.

Last month, it hit another milestone. According to USA Today (via NPD analyst Anita Frazier), the “3DS has outsold the Nintendo DS by about 1 million units in their respective first 14 months in the market”.

4.5 million 3DS units have been sold in the U.S. in its first year.

Perhaps Xenoblade Chronicles didn’t perform terribly in the U.S. after all. We might not actually find out how the game sold last month, as Eurogamer says that it wasn’t included in April’s NPD report. This is apparently because it’s a retailer exclusive.

I personally have no way of verifying that information, but it would make things much more interesting if true.
