Deathchron

Ratalaika Games, in partnership with Crescent Moon Games, announced today that they’re putting Deathchron on Switch. It’ll be ready to go on July 12, 2024.

Deathchron is a side-scrolling action platformer set in an alternate reality in which robots have taken over. You’ll play as a young hero looking to ensure the future is different.

Sigma Star Saga

WayForward, the studio behind Shantae, just announced that it’s bringing back the GBA game Sigma Star Saga. It launches in 2025.

Sigma Star Saga is making its return after twenty years. WayForward isn’t confirming Switch support just yet, but given the studio’s output, that’s practically a lock.

Sigma Star Saga is a sci-fi adventure title featuring 2D space shooter and RPG elements. The re-release is being built with Limited Run Games’ Carbon Engine.

Okami development team sales

In a recent video, Okami director Hideki Kamiya and environment artist Ikumi Nakamura. The two spoke about various topics, including the team behind the game and the initial poor sales.

According to Kamiya, Okami was intended to feature “a dream team” of developers. However, he actually believes that the group was ultimately “weak”, before adding how there “was a very drastic contrast within.”

Tatsumi Shiren - Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island update

The second big update for Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island was just made available, and it’s highlighted by new playable character Tatsumi Shiren.

That’s not all to the update. Also included are more dungeon floors for deeper exploration, a “Basic Training” mode, and more.

Nintendo Switch Sports basketball

June 18: Nintendo isn’t finished with Nintendo Switch Sports, and just revealed basketball is coming to the game. It will be available as a free update this summer.

Players can use motion controls to sink as many baskets as they can within the time limit in the solo Three-Point Challenge. Also available, four players can compete locally in Five-Streak Battle or Three-Point Contest, and you can dribble, pass and score in two-on-two matches locally or online.

Paper Ghost Stories: Third Eye Open release date

Today, Paper Ghost Stories: Third Eye Open received its final release date. Chorus Worldwide Games and Cellar Vault Games say that it’s hitting Switch on September 5, 2024.

Paper Ghost Stories: Third Eye Open was first announced for Switch in 2022. Despite being planned for the following year, we’ll now finally be seeing it in a couple of months.

Cyber Citizen Shockman Zero gameplay

Fresh gameplay is now available for Cyber Citizen Shockman Zero after it just came to Switch. 16 minutes of footage showcases the classic title which got a worldwide launch for the first time.

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart. This week, Dragon Quest II HD-2D Remake and Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom appear for the first time.

Pokemon Scarlet Violet summer Tera Raid Battle events

We only typically hear about new Tera Raid Battle events for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet one at a time, but a smattering of them were just announced.

New activities are planned starting at the end of this upcoming week. Pikachu, Dondozo, Gimmighoul, and Dragonite will be featured.
