Skull Island: Rise of Kong

Original (7/20): GameMill Entertainment has announced Skull Island: Rise of Kong, a new game based on the history of Skull Island developed by creator Joe DeVito and based on Merian C. Cooper’s King Kong. Switch will be getting it this fall.

The game is a third-person action-adventure title in which players can become Kong on a journey of vengeance while fighting to claim their rightful place as King of Skull Island. More details can be found int he following overview:

Faerie Afterlight

Today, publisher Mastiff and developer Clay Game Studio confirmed that they’re about to bring the Metroidvania game Faerie Afterlight to Switch. Those interested in the game can pick it up on September 14, 2023.

Faerie Afterlight is a 2D fantasy action game that has players simultaneously controlling Kimo and Wispy as they explore Lumina’s infested caverns, deep seas, and ghostly cities to reclaim the scattered, broken shards of Light. More information can be found in the following overview:

Bye Sweet Carole

Original (4/18): Publisher Just For Games has announced a partnership with Little Sewing Machine on Bye Sweet Carole, a new horror adventure game. The project is currently in development for Switch and other platforms.

Just For Games says that Remothered creator Chris Darril, who’s leading the way on the upcoming title, “went for an art direction inspired by the greatest animation films. The stunning visuals will support the incredible adventures of the main character, Lana Benton, in her quest to uncover the truth about the mysterious Carole Simmons’ disappearance.”

Super Mario Bros Wonder Direct

A new Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct will air on August 31, 2023, Nintendo just announced. It will kick off at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET / 3 PM in the UK / 4 PM in Europe.

Nintendo says that the event will last for about 15 minutes. Further specifics were not included as part of the announcement.

Front Mission 2 October release date

Forever Entertainment has passed along an updated release date for Front Mission 2: Remake. The game will now arrive for Switch on October 5, 2023, the company just announced.

You may recall that Front Mission 2nd: Remake was originally planned for June. However, Forever Entertainment announced a delay the month prior, explaining that “we want to ensure that we have sufficient time to add as many functionalities as possible while proceeding with proper implementation and tests, in order to meet your expectations for a modern-day remake.”

Fate/Samurai Remnant tr

Original (6/19): Koei Tecmo has issued the first proper gameplay trailer for Fate/Samurai Remnant. Additionally, we have a new set of details.

You may recall that the Switch title was announced at the very end of 2022. The action RPG also comes from Type-Moon and Aniplex.

Logiart Grimoire

Jupiter – known for its series of Picross games – has announced Logiart Grimoire, its latest puzzle experience. The title will land on Switch in 2024.

Logiart Grimoire combines world puzzles and number puzzles for a new type of experience. The game will feature a story, nearly 300 puzzles, and more.

The latest UK software sales chart for the week ending August 26, 2023 is now available.

Once again, it’s Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as the best-selling Switch game. It drops a spot, but is still #2 across all platforms. Elsewhere, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom moves up just slightly to #3.

Bandai Namco TGS 2023

Bandai Namco today unveiled its lineup for the 2023 Tokyo Game Show.

At least as far as what’s been confirmed, thus far there’ll only be one Switch game on display – that being My Hero Ultra Rumble with a stage show. Other confirmed titles include Blue Protocol, The Idolmaster Shiny Colors: Song for Prism, Sand Land, SD Gundam G Generation Eternal, Sword Art Online: Last Recollection, Synduality: Echo of Ada, Tales of Arise, and Tekken 8.

G-Mode Archives+: Megami Ibunroku Persona: Ikuu no Tou Hen

G-Mode is readying G-Mode Archives+: Megami Ibunroku Persona: Ikuu no Tou Hen for Switch, the company announced today. A release window was not provided as part of the news.

Megami Ibunroku Persona: Ikuu no Tou Hen originally released as a mobile title in December 2006. However, it never left Japan.
