Miyamoto says Mario movie success “far beyond our imagination”, believes poor reviews helped spread the word

Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto has commented on the response The Super Mario Bros. Movie has seen, and he thinks that the poor reviews from credits was actually a good thing.
Miyamoto was speaking about the film in an interview with Nintendo Dream. He noted that “the results were far beyond our imagination.” Aside from feeling that luck was on their side, poor reviews from some critics may have actually provided a boost since “that also helps a topic grow.”

Totally Spies game announced

A new game is in development based on the Totally Spies animated series, Microids announced today. A release is planned for 2024.
That’s all we have to go on at the moment. Microids says the game will be appearing on consoles, which should include Switch given the company’s support of the system – all of its offerings end up there.
Totally Spies originally debuted in 2001. After ending about a decade ago, the show is now making a comeback with a new season in 2024.

Cassette Beasts Switch release date set for May

Cassette Beasts is almost here on Switch, with publisher Raw Fury and Bytten Studio providing a final release date. The game will be available for Nintendo’s console on May 25, 2023, the two sides confirmed today.
We first heard about Cassette Beasts back in 2020. It’s a creature-collecting-and-fusing open-world RPG.

Charade Maniacs western release date set for June, limited edition revealed

Idea Factory has provided a final release date for the western version of Charade Maniacs. In North America and Europe, it’ll be out on June 27, 2023.
Aside from the release date, also revealed is a limited edition for Charade Maniacs. Copies include a copy of the game with reversible cover sleeve, steel game case, “Behind the Curtain” hardcover art book with 68 pages, curtain call drama CD, “The Next Act” short novel with 44 pages, ten card bromide set, a collector’s box, and a trading card.

LEGO Super Mario reveals Donkey Kong, Bowser’s Castle

Original (3/10): As it’s March 10 – or MAR10 Day – LEGO is celebrating with the reveal of some special sets, including a LEGO Donkey Kong and Bowser’s Castle expansion.
The Donkey Kong set it slated for release this summer. The Bowser’s Castle Expansion will follow on August 1, 2023.
With the Bowser’s Castle set, we have much more information. It includes “an opening Bowser-jaw-shaped entrance, a crane to rescue the Purple Toad from the trap and topple Dry Bowser, flippers to defeat the Bone Piranha Plant and Bone Goomba, a Magmaargh attack function, gym, secret entrance, secret strategy room, Key Block and a Treasure Chest Block.”

2D hand-drawn roguelite platformer Space Gladiators incoming for Switch

Next month, Seaven Studio and Blobfish will be putting Space Gladiators on Switch. The game will be ready to go on May 4, 2023.
Space Gladiators is a 2D hand-drawn roguelite platformer that has players fighting their way out of a planet prison. Further information is included below.

Tray Racers update out now (version 1.0c), patch notes

Bit Loom has issued a new update for the recently-released Tray Racers, bringing the game up to version 1.0c.
The patch focuses on improving various wait times and includes a racing countdown when the majority of players have readied up, optimized load times of cave biome, and extra tutorial tooltips on the loading screen. There are a few other tweaks and fixes as well.
