Today, Hamster officially announced The NewZealand Story as the latest Arcade Archives game on Switch. It will be available on January 26, 2023.
The NewZealand Story, which was made by Taito, originally debuted in 1998. The action game has players controlling Tiki as they go on a journey to rescue his girlfriend Phee Phee as well as other kiwis who have been kidnapped by a blue leopard seal. Each level is like a maze, and you’ll need to avoid enemies along the way.

Switch Sports, Mario Strikers: Battle League gets 1.3.1 updates

New updates have rolled out for Nintendo Switch Sports and Mario Strikers: Battle League, with both moving up to version 1.3.1.
We will say that these patches are fairly minor. With Mario Strikers, Nintendo and Next Level Games addressed an issue where Rainbow-colored ? Blocks would not appear during Strikers Club Season Matches. As for Nintendo Switch Sports, the game has received additional data for available items.

A new update is here for The Spirit and the Mouse on Switch, which is version 1.2b.
The patch is notable as it introduces a number of additional options and accessibility features, including closed caption. A new set of bug fixes are here as well.

Kingdom Two Crowns just received a new update on Switch known as “Lost Islands”.
After installing the patch, players can take on a new area that offers a new, randomly generated challenge every day. There are also a few balance changes and multiple fixes.

Saga of Sins release date set for March, new trailer

A release date has come in for Saga of Sins, the unholy action adventure game from Just For Games and Bonus Level Entertainment. Switch will be getting it on March 30, 2023.
Saga of Sins was originally made known for the console last August. It previously had a general 2023 launch window.
Unsouled Switch physical release in the works

Red Art Games has teamed up with Neowiz and Megusta Games to create a physical version for Unsouled on Switch, the company announced today.
There are plans for both a standard version and collector’s edition. The latter, which is limited to 1,000 copies, features a copy of the game, a 72-page artbook, and the game’s soundtrack CD.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie shows off Jakks Pacific toys

All sorts of promotions and products are planned for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, including a new wave of toys from Jakks Pacific. IGN has now offered up a first look, pictured above.
Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Peach are all set to receive toys. With Mario, he’s holding a plunger. Luigi comes equipped with his flashlight. Toad features his backpack and frying pan, while Peach’s iconic parasol can be seen.

Germany’s top 20 best-selling games of 2022

A new report from the German Games Industry Association has revealed the top 20 best-selling games of 2022 in the region.
Pokemon had a strong showing with three entries on the list. Pokemon Legends: Arceus came very close to topping the chart, but lands at #2. Nintendo Switch Sports and Kirby and the Forgotten Land, which were new releases as well, land at #7 and #9 respectively. While it wasn’t in the top ten, Splatoon 3 did secure a spot at #14. Mario Strikers: Battle League even managed to appear having come in at #19.
