N64 icons on the way to Nintendo Switch Online

Original (10/20): Nintendo is planning a new round of Nintendo Switch Online icons based on the N64, the company has revealed.
The promotion kicks off on November 2, 2022. Icons can be redeemed exclusively for subscribers of the Expansion Pack tier.
November will feature Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, and Kirby 64. It’ll be followed by The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, F-Zero X, and Yoshi’s Story in December. Finally, January will have Mario Kart 64, Star Fox 64, and Paper Mario. Everything will wrap up by February 3, 2023.

It’s January, which means it’s time for the Choose Your Legends: Round 7 event in Fire Emblem Heroes. As many fans are aware, these are always hosted at the start of the new year.
Voting has opened and you can vote on your favorite characters from the Fire Emblem series. The top two male and top two female Heroes will appear in Fire Emblem Heroes wearing special Choose Your Legends outfits at a later date.

Rokojori has announced Dash Cup Kickers, an action arcade sports title. A Switch version is planned, but there’s no word on a release window.
Dash Cup Kickers features local multiplayer for up to four players, online multiplayer, and a career mode. Gameplay is fast with dashes, trick shots, super skills, super shots, and more – not to mention a variety of stadiums. In career mode, players can develop teams. There’s also a stadium builder to create customized stadiums with gameplay-changing elements like hurting-hot lava, goals attacking with target-following lasers, shooting pirate cannons, and more.

pixelBot Extreme, side-scrolling shooter, reaching Switch this month

Later this month, pixelBot Extreme will be appearing on Switch. Publisher FusionPlay and developer PlayHeart Games announced today that the title will be ready to go on January 25, 2023.
pixelBot Extreme is described as “a retro side-scrolling shooter with an intense difficulty level and an unique color-based shooting system.” Read more about it below.

Nintendo has just kicked off a new 2023 New Year Sale on the Switch eShop featuring games such as Cadence of Hyrule, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Fire Emblem Warriors, and Paper Mario: The Origami King. A few third-party titles are also at their lowest prices ever including Ori and the Blind Forest.

New data has been published that reveals the best-selling games in the UK for 2022, and we also know that Switch was the best-selling console of the year.
Nintendo only has one game in the top ten (physical and digital combined) – that being Nintendo Switch Sports. However, had the sales of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet been combined, they would have appeared higher. The new Pokemon titles did see a 36 percent increase over Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Also keep in mind that Nintendo does not report digital data, which limits how high the company’s games chart.
