Original (8/19): New Zealand retailer MightyApe has put up a listing for a new Nintendo-made 3DS AC adapter. It’s a wall plug with a separate 3DS charge cable that inserts into the plug through a USB input. Apparently, it will also be compatible with the NES Mini.

MightyApe includes a tentative September 30 release date. The product will cost $13.99.

MightyApe was actually the first retailer to list the new Fire Emblem Fates and Smash Bros. 3DS amiibo bundles, which we originally heard about yesterday and were confirmed earlier today. Nintendo may have something the new 3DS adapter soon.

About a year ago, we reported that Spanish developers MercurySteam once pitched a prototype for a new first-person Metroid game to Nintendo. This info came from Liam Robertson, who has uncovered tons of info on cancelled or never released games in the past.

Today, Eurogamer published an extensive interview with Enric Alvarez from MercurySteam and producer Dave Cox, who is working with them on their current project. The supposed Metroid prototype game is also briefly discussed – and dismissed by Alvarez:

Eurogamer: Is the rumour that you created a Metroid prototype for Wii U and 3DS also bullshit?

The Bayonetta amiibo was announced last December, but we haven’t heard anything about it since. Fans have been left wondering when we’ll finally be seeing it.

There is good news to report finally, as the figure is still on the way. Bayonetta 2 director Yusuke Hashimoto just made a new post on the PlatinumGames website teasing the amiibo, and noted that the team is “still working hard to get her just right.” For now, we’re only left with the image above.

Hashimoto’s full words are as follows:

For folks in Canada, the new Zelda amiibo and Animal Crossing amiibo cards are now available to pre-order. You can reserve them all here. This includes the 8-Bit Link, Ocarina of Time Link, and Wind Waker 2-pack as well as the Animal Crossing: New Leaf Welcome amiibo cards.

Thanks to MrJonFaust for the tip.

The Japan Game Awards took place a few days ago, and several Nintendo titles came out on top in various categories. We now have the results for the Future Division division, which were hosted earlier today.

Ten titles present at the Tokyo Game Show were selected by attendees as the expo’s best games. Two Nintendo games from Capcom made the list: Monster Hunter Stories and Megami Meguri. For those who are curious, Final Fantasy XV, Nioh, Gravity Rush 2, Yakuza 6, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last Guardian, Resident Evil 7, and Summer Lesson rounded out the rest of the list in no particular order.

As this year’s Tokyo Game Show ends, next year’s event has been dated. It’ll take place between September 21 and September 24. Per usual, Makuhari Messe will host the event.

As for TGS 2016, the expo saw a higher number of attendees (271,224) compared to last year. More people stopped by during each of the four days, including the first two which are reserved for business partners and media.

Here’s a breakdown of the attendance:
