Kaio: King of Pirates is an odd case. Despite having announced the game a year and a half ago, relatively little has been shared by developer Comcept and publisher Marvelous AQL.

But don’t work: Kaio is still coming. Comcept CEO Keiji Inafune told Siliconera that development is “going well”, though because a manga and anime are also involved, “we can’t just show the game.”

“Marvelous AQL is the publisher and there are plans to make a manga and anime. At Comcept, we’re producing the game and it’s going well. There is a total effort with all of these collaborators for the Kaio intellectual property, so we can’t just show the game. It’s basically not our choice.”

This week’s GameStop ad has gone live. There aren’t too many highlights, but as previously announced, those who pre-order Watch Dogs will receive an exclusive poster.

The full lineup of deals can be found in the circular below:

While we’re on the topic of 3DS block sizes, here’s another one for you: Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. The game comes in at a whopping 17,693 blocks.

That’s larger than Style Savvy’s 10,500 total and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate’s 14,275 amount.

Capcom previously said that Ultimate is 1.76GB. Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D should, therefore, be somewhere around 2GB.

Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move is due out in roughly two weeks. When it launches, you won’t need much space on an SD card to download the game. Those with access to Minis on the Move say that it only comes in at 426 blocks – a rather small download.

Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move will launch in North America on May 13. Pricing is set at $9.99.

If you had any remaining doubt that the next Call of Duty game would be something other than Ghosts, you may want to take a look at the image above.

The photo comes from today’s new Call of Duty teaser site, which was discovered through the source code. It’s clearly a reference to the “Ghosts” subtitle that will be included in the name of the next Call of Duty.

Look out for an official announcement from Activision soon.

A rough patch in Square Enix’s life as a game developer and publisher doesn’t appear to be ending anytime soon. Today, the Final Fantasy studio has announced their plans to lay off more workers from their European branch, citing a desire to “ensure we have the right structure, content and skills for the changing entertainment landscape”.

No word on exactly how many people will be getting laid off or when it’ll happen, but the statement reads that they’ll keep us updated “when the time is right”.

Activision has kicked off teaser activities for its next Call of Duty game, which is expected to be Call of Duty: Ghosts. A newly launched website can be found here.

Those with a Facebook and/or Twitter account can partake in a social activity on the page. If you choose to participate, you’ll be added to an image that appears to be building toward something significant.

An official Call of Duty reveal is just a few days away based on recent findings – perhaps as early as May 1.
