May 4: Vicarious Visions, the studio now known as Blizzard Albany that previously developed projects such as Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, and some Skylanders titles, was apparently working on a 3D Donkey Kong game at one point. Given the timing here, it should have ended up on Switch had it come to fruition.
DK Vine previously published a report about the situation this year. While some of the specific details have come into question, Did You Know Gaming today followed up with its own findings.

Digimon World: Next Order sales surpass one million

Digimon World: Next Order has sold over one million copies, Bandai Namco revealed today. That’s a number based on worldwide sales across all platforms combined.
Digimon World: Next Order originally released on the PS Vita. Bandai Namco eventually brought it to Switch as the International Edition in 2023. This version included a beginner difficulty and the ability to run.

New data from Circana gives us a look at the best-selling games of September 2024 specifically on Switch.
Things are a little more interesting than usual. Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom topped the chart, but a few third-party games appear. Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, EA Sports FC 25, Epic Mickey, and Ace Attorney Investigations Collection are in the top ten.

Circana has released a listing of the top ten best-selling games in the U.S. for the month of September 2024.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom debuts here, coming in at #4 – and remember, Nintendo does not report digital data. Also worth noting, Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics manages to crack the top twenty.

No Man’s Sky’s “The Cursed” update announced, patch notes

No Man’s Sky has another update in store, and Hello Games is readying “The Cursed” patch. This is also version 5.20.
The update features a new expedition to tie in with Halloween. Set in a twilight realm, players will battle the weakening of the boundaries of reality. Note that this patch also includes bug fixes.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Showcase announced

Gameloft will host the Disney Dreamlight Valley Showcase next week, the company has announced. It will air on October 29 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM in the UK / 7 PM in Europe.
Gameloft says that the Disney Dreamlight Valley Showcase will include information about the game’s next chapter and beyond. Teases will be shared on social media leading up to the event.

October 22: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown won’t be getting a sequel as despite its critical success, from a sales standpoint, the game apparently didn’t meet expectations.
Origami Media reported on its findings today. Supposedly, while the team was interested in working on a sequel, Ubisoft wasn’t on board. It ultimately comes down to sales. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown didn’t sell what Ubisoft had hoped, and also felt that a new entry would impact the performance of the original game.

NCSoft done with Battle Crush, development ending

Battle Crush, which was previously brought to Switch, is ending development. NCSoft is making a number of moves with different games, and the Switch title is one of a few that’s being impacted.
Battle Crush is an online action brawler supporting 30 players. Following its Early Access launch just a few months ago, feedback was mixed. Now a new report that NCSoft has decided to move on from the title entirely. Expect it to be removed from the eShop at some point in the future.
