Rumor: Wii U survey asks about $300 price tag, concept images included
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 0 comments
The images above were apparently taken from a recent Wii U GlobalTestMarket survey. Most of the “concept” shots have already been demonstrated in video form, but they’re interesting nonetheless.
Arguably the most important survey capture is the final shot in the gallery, which asks the user if he/she would purchase a Wii U for $300. Maybe it’s a sign of things to come for the console’s final price, assuming the survey is the real deal.

Renegade Kid’s Jools Watsham is at it again with another large update about the company’s projects. In the video blog above, Watsham discusses Mutant Mudds 2 (which is practically a lock for 2013), release time frames for already-announced games, new ideas (such as a new 2D platformer), and more.
Killer Freaks from Outer Space will have online multiplayer
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 0 comments
This shouldn’t come as a surprise given the multiplayer nature of Killer Freaks, but it looks like we have a confirmation that Ubisoft’s shooter will include online play.
Senior software engineer Olivier Cado is currently working on the possible Wii U launch title. In his LinkedIn profile, he Cado listed his role as an online/multiplayer programmer.
Surely we’ll receive more details about Killer Freaks during E3 next month.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Square Enix’s Bravely Default is a great-looking 3DS game. The company released a new batch of screenshots today, and even though the images are low-quality, we’re not concerned about the title’s visuals
You can find all of the new shots in the gallery above.

April 2012 NPD: 3DS outsells DS in first 14 months in the market
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, DS, News | 0 comments
After the 3DS’ inital rocky start, it’s pretty amazing to see how quickly the system has managed to turn around. The 3DS has been doing very well since last year’s price drop, reaching sales goals left and right.
Last month, it hit another milestone. According to USA Today (via NPD analyst Anita Frazier), the “3DS has outsold the Nintendo DS by about 1 million units in their respective first 14 months in the market”.
4.5 million 3DS units have been sold in the U.S. in its first year.
Rumor: Xenoblade not included in April’s NPD report due to retailer exclusivity
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii | 0 comments
Perhaps Xenoblade Chronicles didn’t perform terribly in the U.S. after all. We might not actually find out how the game sold last month, as Eurogamer says that it wasn’t included in April’s NPD report. This is apparently because it’s a retailer exclusive.
I personally have no way of verifying that information, but it would make things much more interesting if true.

NPD Group has released a listing of the top ten best-selling games in the U.S. for the month of April. The results can be found below.
I’ll be interested to see if we get any numbers for Xenoblade Chronicles. I think analysts were expecting too much out of the game…
Nintendo not reducing DSi/DSi XL price in Europe
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, News | 0 comments
The DSi and DSi XL will receive price drop in North America later this month. Nintendo of Europe, however, do not have any plans to reduce the prices of the two handhelds.
In a statement, Nintendo UK said:
“Although this announcement has been made in the US, the European and UK market don’t have anything to announce at this time.”
