Nintendo is ditching its old New Super Mario Bros. Mii prototype shown at E3 last year. Instead, the company is moving forward with “New Super Mario Bros. U”.

The game features extensive Miiverse support.

Comprehensive footage of New Super Mario U is currently being shown at Nintendo’s E3 2012 media briefing.

Nintendo has confirmed that the Wii U will be able to support two Wii U GamePads at once. The company’s first content will be focused on just one controller at E3 this week, but experiences with two will eventually be shown.

Perhaps some games on the show floor will demonstrate two Wii U GamePads?

Nintendo has just confirmed a slew of services for Wii U. YouTube, Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Video are all coming to the console.

Nintendo’s E3 2012 media briefing has just begun, and the company is finally giving us a look at Pikmin 3. The first gameplay footage of the game is being shown as we speak, running on Wii U.

New “rock” Pikmin were introduced, which have the ability to break hard objects. Four leaders can be controlled.

Pikmin 3 makes use of the Wiimote and nunchuck. An overall map is shown on the Wii U GamePad. If players wish, the entire game can be played entirely with the GamePad.

The title’s “Challenge Mode” will be on display at E3 2012 this week.

Show will begin in 30 minutes. Stay tuned for news, trailers, and more!
