Back in the day, Kirby fans used to talk about how the character appeared angry – but that applies only to the west. If you looked at key art or boxart for the series’ various games in Japan, Kirby was often seen smiling and looked happier. It was overseas where things were different. So what was going on there?

Polygon caught up with a couple of former Nintendo of America staffers to get insight into the situation. Leslie Swan, the company’s former localization manager, first spoke about cultural differences between the United States and Japan and how “tween and teen boys tend to be drawn to tougher characters” in the west. However, it also seems that Nintendo didn’t exactly believe they were making Kirby angry – rather the character was depicting a look in which he’s “determined against all odds.”

NPR recently caught up with Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone, who addressed the game’s future.

There are two sides to the coin here. First, Barone acknowledged that he has some caution as overloading the game with too much content, which could be “detrimental”. But even if he decides to end support at some point, he doesn’t want to definitively close the book – “even 50 years from now,” he said.

Nintendo Switch 2 microSD Express Card Lexar China

Lexar China made an announcement this week that it’s about to release a new microSD Express Card, but the important bit here is that it will apparently be compatible with Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo hasn’t made any announcements about its storage plans for the console. While there have been rumors pointing to possible microSD Express Card, as of now that’s yet to be confirmed. It’s interesting then that Lexar China has made this announcement and has reason to believe that its product will work on Nintendo’s new system. The company went as far as to say that it’s a “NS must-have”.
