Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster 1.2.0 update

This week, Square Enix started distribution of a new version 1.2.0 update for Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster. All of the individual games have been patched (Final Fantasy 1 – 6).

A number of improvements have been made – alongside the standard bug fixes. Square Enix says it tweaked the UI, controls, specific gameplay elements, and more.

Kemco RPG Selection Vol. 10

March 12: The Kemco RPG Selection series continues on, and Vol. 10 has now been announced for Japan and Asia. It will be available in both regions on June 26, 2025.

Four more RPGs will be bundled together on a single cartridge. The lineup includes Infinite Links, Devil Labyrinth, Fairy Elements, and Dragon Prana.

Fairy Tail 2 1.4.1 update

A new version 1.4.1 update dropped for Fairy Tail 2 this week, which includes a new Fired Up difficulty – among other things.

If players are looking for an extreme challenge, that’s where Fired Up comes in. It features even stronger enemies, but provides more ether exclusively. Also in this update is an increase for the Origin Rank’s upper limit, a new Origin Tree for the Magic Origins, and a “Reread Fairy Tail Diaries” feature.

Star Wars Hunters shutting down

Those playing Star Wars: Hunters on Nintendo Switch should be aware that it’s now been announced that the game is shutting down. Service will end on October 1, 2025.

Prior to that, a final content update is planned for April 15. Additionally, Season 5 is being extended by three weeks.

Star Wars: Hunters, a player-vs-player competitive arena combat game, has seen a bit of a rocky history. After it was announced in a Nintendo Direct in February 2021, the game saw multiple delays and would not launch until 2024. Having launched last June, the game will be around for a little over a year.

Nintendo Switch Online Playtest Program Splatoon

New information has come to light that apparently reveals the development leads behind the Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program game.

A patent is now making the rounds that lists Yusuke Amano, Tsubasa Sakaguchi, Masaki Wada, and Shinya Yano as the inventors. Regarding Amano and Sakaguchi, they directed the first Splatoon before going on to work on Nintendo Labo. Wada and Yano were programmers on Ring Fit Adventure.
