Rumor: North America will be receiving a Smash Bros. 3DS XL as well, two black Wii U bundles incoming

Update: We’ll just throw this in as well as opposed to making a new post. werejack is claiming that two new Wii U bundles for North America – LEGO City: Undercover and New Super Mario Bros. U – are also on the way.
I suppose while I'm at it: two new Wii U bundle SKUs, one for Lego City Undercover, new one for New Super Mario Bros. Both black. @wario64

Earlier this month, Nintendo announced a special Smash Bros.-themed 3DS XL for Europe. A similar system has yet to be confirmed for North America, though it’s possible that we’ll be hearing something in September.
Twitter user “werejack” claims that Nintendo has something planned for the states as well, but “it might be different from the Europe one.” He suggests that the North American Smash Bros. 3DS XL will be “bluer.”
We normally wouldn’t post this sort of conjecture, but werejack actually leaked news of the Zelda: Wind Waker HD Wii U bundle, black 3DS XL, and red/blue Pokemon 3DS XL systems prior to their announcements last year. Hopefully werejack’s latest tweets are accurate as well!
Taiko no Tatsujin URL hints at new Wii U game
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 1 Comment
Bandai Namco has already released one entry in the Taiko no Tatsujin series for Wii U. A second game could now be in the works as well based on a recent discovery.
An official Taiko no Tatsujin URL, wiiu2.taiko-ch.net, currently indicates that the website is a “test page”. That’s exactly the same message users were presented with prior to the first Taiko no Tatsujin Wii U reveal. Also, if you try another domain such as wiiu3.taiko-ch.net, the page simply won’t load. This suggests that the “wiiu2” subdomain was created with an intended use.
So is this a sign that a second Taiko no Tatsujin Wii U game will be announced soon? A reveal around TGS would certainly make sense.

Remastered Nintendo Classic rumor
Posted on 10 years ago by Kirara Koneko(@KiraraKoneko) in News, Rumors | 51 Comments
Thanks to a rumor started via twitter, Nintendo might be getting ready to release a Remastered Classic. According to this twitter user,
“It’s perfect to fill gaps in the line-up,” and “You’re gonna love it, but it’s a Remaster,” . This is apparently a source that has been correct in his predictions of other Nintendo titles in the past, NeoGAF credits him on predictions about Devil’s Third for Wii U as well as Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Saphire.
My mind is already spinning, What do you think it could be?
Mario Kart 8 has unused cup icons?
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Images, Rumors, Wii U | 22 Comments
A pair of hackers from the UK have allegedly detected a few unused cup icons in Mario Kart 8. At this time, we cannot confirm their validity.
If true though, it’d be interesting to see why they were abandoned. Were they simply images left behind during development? Or could they hint at something more significant such as DLC?

Has Falling Skies: The Game been cancelled for Wii U?
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 9 Comments
Did you notice that the recent teaser trailer for Falling Skies: The Game lacked a Wii U logo/boxart? Well, we certainly did! A mention of Wii U has also been missing from recent press announcements surrounding the game. We dug a big further and noticed that retailers such as GameFly and GameStop have pulled their listings for the Wii U version.
So, what does this all mean? Has Falling Skies: The Game been cancelled for Wii U? I’m inclined to say “yes” at present based on the evidence available to us.
Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to obtain an official confirmation regarding Falling Skies’ status on Wii U. We tried reaching out to Little Orbit last week, but have not received a response.
Report details supposed turmoil within Nintendo management

A report published on Japanese website Business Journal details alleged turmoil within management at Nintendo.
The article claims that there’s a shared recognition of Iwata being the culprit among management. While there is a strong desire to bring games/franchises like Mario to smartphones, Iwata is strongly vetoing the idea. Iwata reiterates that “Nintendo’s strength is in unified development of game hardware and software”, stubbornly rejects the “net” (seems to reference how smartphones don’t use physical media since they download games), and fixates over “game consoles” – perhaps in light of his pride as a former developer.

The Binding of Isaac teased for 3DS?
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, Rumors | 9 Comments
There’s something fishy going on with Nicalis and The Binding of Isaac. Something fishy indeed.
Last night, Nicalis’ Tyrone Rodriguez published a blog post about The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth for the PS4 and PS Vita… but there is a mention of how the Rebirth was originally conceived as a 3DS project. And, curiously, the post contains three hyperlinks – one with “3”, another with “D”, and one more with “S”. Put that together, and you have 3DS!
Each of the links sends you to the short clip above titled “Gex Remake”, which features a 3D filter. So what’s going on here? We’ll leave you to speculate.

Also included in Best Buy’s listing is a reconfirmation that the adapter supports WaveBird controllers.
Here’s the blurb in full:

Persona Q seems to be heading west in late November
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, Rumors | 0 comments
A specific western release date for Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth hasn’t been officially announced yet, but the game seems to be coming out in November.
In North America, retailers like Amazon list a November 25 release date. Meanwhile, the newly opened NIS America Europe (take that in for as second) online store lists a November 28 date.
So as of now, both North America and Europe appear to be getting Persona Q in later November.
Rumor: Bayonetta to have a Daisy costume
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 22 Comments
PlatinumGames has revealed three Nintendo costumes for Bayonetta 1: Link, Samus, and Peach. At least one more original outfit will be included in the game based on the screenshot above.
Thanks to some detective work done by the folks on NeoGAF, Bayonetta may also feature a Daisy costume. The emblem on the right side of the image seems to match up well with the character’s icon associated with Daisy, posted below:
Not confirmed by any means, but it’s a good sign.
