Disney’s “Wreck-It Ralph” video game tie-in could be exclusive to Nintendo platforms.

GameFly is only listing versions for the Wii, 3DS, and DS. Activision is included as the publisher, though that tidbit is questionable. A release could be planned for October 30.

Wreck-It Ralph is an animated film featuring Ralph, a villain from the arcade game “Fix-It Felix Jr”. After determining that he’d like to turn over a new leaf, Ralph begins a journey to ditch his malevolent ways and ventures into new worlds.

The movie’s debut trailer showed a number of classic video game characters such as Dr. Robotnik and Bowser. Assuming GameFly’s listing is correct, Bowser’s inclusion could one of the contributing factors behind the Nintendo exclusivity.

It’s possible that the retailer is simply incorrect. Wreck-It Ralph is just a few months away, so we should receive information about the actual video game soon.

North American 3DS Ambassadors who downloaded the NES version of Download Donkey Kong Jr. from the eShop last year can now download an update for the game.

Simply head on over to the store, visit the Donkey Kong Jr. shelf, and touch the “To Update Screen” option. The download should then be ready to go.

This isn’t anywhere close to being one of the top Wii games, but it doesn’t look completely awful. If it really is halfway decent, that’d be an accomplishment considering how terrible movie tie-ins are.

As has been the case for quite some time, Nintendo isn’t concerned with console power. The Wii U is capable in its own right, but no one expects it to offer more juice than Microsoft and Sony’s next-gen systems.

Shigeru Miyamoto was recently asked about the Wii U’s power relative to the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 successors. He responded by saying that power and cost must be balanced, and in a separate answer, said that “it’s easy to lose sight of whether a game is fun or not.”

Head past the break to see all of Miyamoto’s comments about console power, Nintendo’s switch to HD, and changes made to the Wii U (the hardware hasn’t changed over the past year, but obviously the GamePad has).
