Axiom Verge’s digital sales on Switch close to PS4 launch, likely surpasses them with physical sales counted

Like many indie games on the platform, Axiom Verge looks to have done very well on Switch. Creator Thomas Happ shared some data about the performac on Twitter today.
According to Happ, digital sales for Axiom Verge on Switch “are near what the PS4 launch sales were, and when you add in physical, they likely surpass them.” Happ will also be able to use strong funds generated from the physical version for his son’s healthcare. If you recall, publisher BadLand said it would donate 75% of its share.

Floor Kids update to add Infinity Mode, video capture

The team behind Floor Kids isn’t done updating the game. In a new tweet published today, some new content was teased.
The first thing we can look forward to is Infinity Mode, which appears to be a practice mode of sorts. Video capture will also be supported so that players can record 30-second clips.

Nintendo Labo’s motorbike game appears to let you create your own track

We’re still trying to learn about the finer points of Nintendo Labo’s various games. But thanks to a snapshot taken by Engadget at a hands-on media event yesterday, we appear to have some additional information about what the motorbike component offers.
The text above indicates that players will be able to create their own track. It states, “Make your own tracks” and “Create and race three grand-prix courses”.
That certainly sounds intriguing, doesn’t it? Though that’s the only information we have at present, it has piqued our interest.

Streets of Red heading to Switch, out on February 27

Streets of Red is making its way soon to Switch, Secret Base has revealed. A release is planned for February 27.
Secret Base says Streets of Red is “a permadeath multiplayer horror beat’em up that bestows players with the skills of retro gaming heroes in a fight against a legion of undead monstrosities.” The game has “an arcade-style currency system, tribute-parodies to classic horror and videogame characters, and an ever-evolving level structure that makes every run a new experience.”

The Sexy Brutale update out now (version 1.3.0)

Tequilla Works has confirmed that a new update has gone live for The Sexy Brutale on Switch. In both North America and Europe, version 1.3.0 has started distribution.
We don’t have any patch notes at present, but we would guess that the new patch improves performance. We’ll report back with any concrete findings.

Monolith Soft president and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 director Tetsuya Takahashi recently met with Persona producer and director Katsura Hashino for a lengthy discussion. The two met for the very first time to share some development stories in an interview, which was published on Den-fami Nico Gamer.
Siliconera translated one interesting excerpt about the development struggles on Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Takahashi spoke about a great desire to improve the character models for the game, and talked about the reason why outsourcing was so necessary. With under 100 developers working at Monolith Soft, about half working on Zelda, and a few more needed for R&D, the company had around 40 of its own staffers available.

Bigben Interactive bringing Premium Pool Arena to Switch

Next week, Bigben Interactive will be putting Premium Pool Arena. The European eShop shows a release date of February 6.
Premium Pool Arena is pool as we know it, with “different game modes and ultra-intuitive gameplay.” You can play traditional 8-ball, participate in tournaments against stronger and stronger opponents, and unlock different cues with your victories.
Premium Pool Arena will cost £8.89.
Super Mario Run – Gold Goomba Lite event now running

Super Mario Run’s latest event is now up and running. Until February 16, players can partake in Gold Goomba Lite.
This is a version of the Gold Goombas event in which you have an easier chance to obtain certain rewards. By defeating Gold Goombas in World Tour, you can get these special items. Icons will appear on courses where Gold Goombas can be found.
