EDGE selects the top 100 best games of the past 30 years

The well-known magazine EDGE just turned 30 years old, and to celebrate, this month’s issue contains a ranking of the top 100 greatest games released over the past 30 years.
Nintendo has plenty of representation here, including the #1 spot with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Other notable entries are Super Mario 64 at #3, Zelda: Ocarina of Time at #4, Super Mario Galaxy at #11, and Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom at #20.

In The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails, Nayuta is a young lad returning home from studying abroad. Summer vacation is to be spent back with your friends, after all. Getting back to his home of Remnant Isle, Nayuta and his best friend Cygna decide to spend their summer starting their old business back up. Sort of jacks of all trades, the two gallivant as handymen, taking on any kind of job thrown their way with glee. Eventually their work leads them to a mysterious set of ruins, and it is there that they find that they’ve perhaps stumbled upon the most daunting job yet. While Nayuta and Cygna start out hanging around for a simple summer vacation, a fateful encounter with the mysterious fairy Noi sparks a lot of questions and a lot of discovery. Exploring the ruins, Nayuta soon discovers an entire other world – Lost Heaven.

The 2.5D side-scrolling shoot ’em up game Valfaris: Mecha Therion is in development for Switch, it’s been revealed. A release window has not been determined at this time.
Valfaris: Mecha Therion is a sequel to the original game, which is currently available on Switch. But while that 2019 title was a 2D action platformer, Steel Mantis is going in a different direction with its next project.

GameMill, Ludosity, and Fair Play Labs today unveiled Azula as a new playable character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2. She’s known as one of the antagonists in Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Azula won’t be the only playable Avatar character in the game. Aang, who was playable in the previous title, will be back for the sequel.
Star Wars Heritage Pack Switch physical release announced

Today, Aspyr and Lucasfilm Games announced that they will release a physical version of Star Wars Heritage Pack for Switch. Retailers will begin carrying it on December 8, 2023.
The Star Wars Heritage Pack includes The Force Unleashed, Republic Commando, Episode I Racer, Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Knights of the Old Republic, and Knights of the Old Republic II. However, keep in mind that the latter two titles require a digital download. The whole thing will go for $59.99.
All of these games are currently available for individual purchase on the Switch eShop. Additionally, Star Wars Heritage Pack was first made available digitally earlier in the year.

Super Rare Games is producing a physical version of The Tartarus Key for Switch, the company announced today in partnership with Armor Games and Vertical Reach.
4,000 copies will be made in total. Each unit includes the game on a physical cartridge, a full-color manual, an exclusive sticker, and trading cards.
