Mon-Yu release date

Aksys Games today provided a final release date for Mon-Yu: Defeat Monsters And Gain Strong Weapons And Armor in the west. Players will be able to pick it up for Switch on September 21, 2023.

Aksys Games confirmed plans for localization back in February 2022, following the Japanese launch in July 2021. It most recently had a Fall 2023 release window in North America and Europe.

Pokemon Scarlet Violet Fighting Tera Types distribution

Another distribution just went live in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, and this time around, Fighting Tera Shards are up for grabs. Players can quickly claim 50 of them.

Tera Shards are notable if you’re looking to change the Tera Type of a Pokemon. In this particular case, a bunch of these are available in the distribution and they can be applied to have a creature move over to the Fighting Tera Type.

Dolphin Spirit: Ocean Mission

Original (4/17): Today, publisher Microids and developer Magic Pockets announced Dolphin Spirit: Ocean Mission for Switch. The game launches on September 28, 2023.

Dolphin Spirit: Ocean Mission is an educational adventure set on the tropical island of Maupiroa, which is threatened by pollution and impending disaster. With their dolphin companion Keanu, players will explore Maupiroa’s seabed and meet its inhabitants, while helping a local environmental association to save the island and restore its abundant ecosystem. The title will feature a mix of folklore, traditions and fantasy. 

A new update has been announced for action platformer Nocturnal, which is expected to be released soon. When it arrives, the update will bring with it a level selection option, performance improvements, and the usual bug fixes. Full details can be found below:

Tevi

Original (2/8): CreSpirit and GemaYue today unveiled Tevi, an upcoming Metroidvania game for Switch. The title is planned to launch in Q3 2023.

CreSpirit and GemaYue are known for their work on Rabi-Ribi. That one is currently available on the Switch eShop.

Silent Hope opening movie

Marvelous today shared the official opening movie for Silent Hope, its upcoming action RPG for Switch.

The video is backed with a title track by the band Kami wa Saikoro wo Furanai and showcases the seven heroes enjoying some downtime at Base Camp before venturing into the Abyss to take on the enemies that lurk within its depths. Marvelous says that the rock band featuring Shuusaku Yanagita on vocals, Kiichi Yoshida on guitar, Gaku Kiriki on bass, and Ryousuke Kurokawa on drums complements the game’s wordless world with an energetic original song, setting players up for the perilous journey that lies ahead.

Yet another Fire Emblem Heroes summoning event is on the way, this time for Summer Firsts. It will include Ivy: Tidal Breeze (voiced by Reba Buhr, art by cuboon), Fjorm: Seaside Thaw (voiced by Heather Watson, art by Maeshima Shigeki), Tharja: Beach Dark Mage (voiced by Stephanie Sheh, art by Mai Okuma), and Ymir: Seasons of Life (voiced by Erin Yvette and Xanthe Huynh, art by ichikawa Halu)

The skills for Ivy include Divine Draught, Glimmer, Still Water 4, Sabotage A/R 3, and Soaring Guidance. Fjorm can use Ice-Bound Brand, Frostbite Mirror, Atk/Spd Finish 4, Spurn 4, and Time’s Pulse 4. For Tharja it’s Seashell Bowl+, Draw Back, S/R Far Trace 3, and Atk/Spd Gap 3. Lastly, Ymir has Sparkling Sun, Moonbow, Fireblood Boost 3, Mystic Boost 4, and Everliving Domain.

Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon update 2.0.3 Fix-travaganza

Yacht Club Games is back with a new “Fix-travaganza” update for Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, with the game moving over to version 2.0.3.

As the name implies, a bunch of fixes have been implemented. Also, the Mole Knight B is no longer pushed by wind – which is very important.

Creature Lab

Creature Lab has been confirmed for Switch following a previous Kickstarter campaign. Image Power was looking to raise CA $10,000, and that goal was met. The success on Kickstarter means we’ll be seeing the title on Nintendo’s console.
