Nintendo has updated the Japanese release schedule on its platforms for the week of January 18, 2024. Here’s a look at the upcoming digital download schedule:


Pokemon Unite update 1.13.1.4

Pokemon Unite issued its latest update today with the game moving up to version 1.13.1.4.

Balance adjustments are the main highlight this time around. Lapras, Zacian, Dodrio, Cinderace, Zeraora, Sylveon, Gardevoir, Wigglytuff, Metagross, and Blaziken have been impacted.

Alisa: Director's Cut

Top Hat Studios and Casper Croes are bringing Alisa to Switch with a new Director’s Cut version, the two sides announced today. It’ll be out for Switch on February 6, 2024.

Alisa is a cult-classic 90s homage survival horror game with pre-rendered backgrounds, fixed camera angles, and the ability to choose between classic tank controls or modern controls. We’ve got some additional details in the following overview:

Lil' Guardsman release date

Lil’ Guardsman just received a release date on Switch, and it’s only a couple of weeks away. The game will be hitting the eShop on January 23, 2024.

Lil’ Guardsman was first confirmed for Switch last April. It was originally planned for 2023, and while that target was missed, we’re less than a month into 2024.

Arcade Archives Mighty Guy gameplay

Hamster kept up its string of Arcade Archives releases on Switch with Mighty Guy this week, and we now have gameplay. Footage comes from the company’s latest live stream as usual.

Pokemon TV app discontinued

The Pokemon Company today announced that it will be discontinuing its official Pokemon TV app.

It will not longer be available for download on January 8, 2024 – that’s today. This applies to the Switch eShop, App Store, Google Play, Roku Channel Store, Amazon Appstore, and Pokemon.com.

Violet Wisteria

Publisher Eastasiasoft, in collaboration with developer Kanipro Games, today announced plans for a Switch version of Violet Wisteria. It’s scheduled for March 2024.

Violet Wisteria is a retro-styled action platformer with a unique tri-color attack system. Additional information is included in the following overview:

Sail Forth Open Seas update 1.4.4

Sail Forth got a big “Open Seas” update on Switch this week, which is version 1.4.4.

The update is said to increase exploration and sailing aspects with a fully open world as there are no longer any boundaries between locations or loading screens. Additionally, world map generation has been redesigned to improve exploration. That’s along with other elements such as a new boat.

In a recent news post sent out to Switch owners, Nintendo provided a listing of the top 15 European eShop downloads for December 2023.

Suika Game is showing no signs of slowing down as it again manages to make it to the top. Elsewhere we see that Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, a new release for the month, manages to appear in the top ten.
