Octodad: Dadliest Catch was initially planned to launch on the Wii U eShop this past summer. Fall has arrived, so clearly that target has passed.

So what’s with the delay? Young Horses president Phil Tibitoski has said that the team “ran into some unforeseen issues in certification”, which “took a while to fix.” A final release date should be announced “soon”.

Animal Gods is coming out in a couple of days on PC, Mac, and Linux, with the Wii U version following closely behind. 45 minutes of footage from the title is in the video below.

Prismic Studios recently took the project “Gnomes vs. Fairies” to Kickstarter in hopes of securing funds for its final round of development. Founder Dano Kablamo has since shared confirmation that the game is targeting Wii U.

Gnomes vs. Fairies is described as “a single-player, high fantasy, action-adventure game”. Additionally, it features “movement similar to Mario 64 and inventory ranking system inspired by Legend of Zelda”.

Here’s the official overview:

You are the last free Gnome and it’s all up to you. Forget everything you learned about fairies from your storybooks, these fairies are nasty, sneaky, and mean, and they will stop at nothing to enslave your people. If you fail, the Gnomes will be no more!

It’s time to buckle your boots, wield your sword, and tromp far away from your familiar garden. The fairies are coming! Take on slithering cobras, mushroom monsters, Kittybats and Gorphs to prove yourself worthy to face the Fairy King and his 5 evil daughters. Journey to worlds most gnomes only dream about to free your brothers and sisters from their cages and rank up your powers for a five-gnome spree of magic and mayhem.

It’s the Gnomes vs the malicious Fairy King and his hordes of nasty minions. You stand alone, swords in hand, the last hope for all of the Gnome-kin.

You can find Gnomes vs. Fairies on Kickstarter here. The campaign needs to hit $30,000 within the next ten days to secure funding. Kablamo hopes to still bring his title to the Wii U eShop if the Kickstarter fails, but it’ll be much more difficult to do so.
