Playism Games and NIGORO have just launched a Kickstarter for La-Mulana 2. The game was originally announced during TGS 2013 back in September, though there hasn’t been much news until now.

Here’s the official La-Mulana 2 overview posted on Kickstarter:

Shadow of the Eternals has had quite a tumultuous development cycle, ending in its indefinite delay last September. Today, we’ve heard that the project isn’t properly “dead”, but we shouldn’t expect anything new to come out about it any time soon. This statement from the dev team was released on their forums earlier today:

We’ll be continuing to upgrade and keep the forums running and we’re taking a look at where the SOTE project is at, potential options and directions for the future as well as going over lessons learned from the campaigns.

We very much intend to keep the project alive and get back to production but please understand that there probably won’t be any major news or update for a while yet. We’ve got a lot of work ahead to understand the options available to us going forward and to do the best thing by the game.

Team Kakumei confirmed on Twitter yesterday that the indie group is now an official Wii U developer. The studio’s first order of business will be to bring the Ouya title Wrecking Balls Arena over to the eShop as “Wrecking Balls Arena DX”.

Wrecking Balls Arena DX can be considered a sequel/expansion to the initial game. It will sport new stages, items and gameplay elements. As of now, a tentative 2014 release is planned.

Team Kakumei staffer Jonathon Bont spoke about the ease in which the group became a Wii U developer on Twitter, commenting:

USK has rated KickBeat for Wii U, likely signaling an upcoming release of Zen Studios’ game on Nintendo’s console. Nothing has been made official at this time, but I imagine we’ll be seeing an announcement in the future. We’ll keep you up to date with any official news that comes in.
