Former Telltale dev says Minecraft: Story Mode wasn’t originally appropriate for young players, talks buggy games
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch, Wii U | 0 comments
Usually when you think of Minecraft, you think of a game that can be played by anyone regardless of their age. Generally speaking, it’s a family-friendly experience. Yet for Minecraft: Story Mode, the original plan was something a bit different.
According to former Telltale narrative designer Emily Grace Buck, what was originally created “was not appropriate for young kids.” In fact, had the company moved forward with what it had, the ESRB would have given the project a T-rating. Buck didn’t elaborate beyond this as to what Telltale had originally created.
Reggie on leading Nintendo’s staff during the dark days of Wii U and the company’s constant reinvention
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News, Wii U | 0 comments
While Nintendo was at the top of its game during the Wii era, the same can’t be said of Wii U. Wii managed to sell 100 million units while Wii U unfortunately couldn’t even make it to 15 million. There were certainly dark times, but Nintendo navigated through those difficult years and has found success once again with Switch.
During an appearance at GeekSummit earlier this month, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime was asked about how he and the company as a whole went about leading its staff during the Wii U era and keep them believing in their larger vision. Reggie’s response included a note about Nintendo’s constant reinvention, that the Big N is about doing things differently from others, and how “there will always be stumbles along the way.”

About a month ago, Amazon discounted pre-orders for the Zelda: Breath of the Wild: Creating a Champion: Hero’s Edition book by $40. It eventually went back up, but that same discount is live again.
If you’re interested, you can pre-order Zelda: Breath of the Wild: Creating a Champion: Hero’s Edition here for $59.99. It normally costs $99.99.
Also, as a reminder, GameStop is selling an exclusive version of the book. It features a collector’s case with burnished leather with gold foil embellishments, exclusive cover and gold gilded edges, a cloth Calamity Ganon tapestry, an art print featuring the Champions flying into battle, six mini prints of each Champion and Zelda, and four crafted glass Champions’ orbs with laser etchings of the Divine Beast symbols rendered within.

Famitsu has stopped tracking Wii U hardware sales in Japan, final number is 3,303,541
Posted on 6 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in News, Wii U | 0 comments
As of this week, Famitsu has stopped tracking Wii U hardware sales numbers in Japan. With these numbers only being in the double digits each week lately, it seems like they have now reached a point where it’s no longer viable or possible to accurately track them each week. The other major sales figure tracker for the Japanese market, Media Create, stopped reporting Wii U numbers a while ago. As it stands, the final number of Wii U consoles sold in Japan, as reported by Famitsu, is 3,303,541.
