It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart! After returning to the top of the list last week, Dragon Quest XI has fallen down a couple of spots.

Head past the break for the full chart. All votes were cast between January 28 and February 3.

Update: The Pokémon Company has stated that there are currently no plans for DLC stages or Pokémon.

A slew of new support Pokemon have just been announced for Pokken Tournament. The lineup includes Espeon, Umbreon, Magneton, Quagsire, Cubone, and Diglet.

Below are details about each:

– Espeon uses Morning Sun which removes status conditions as well as healing Hit Points
– The less time on the clock, the more it raises
– Umbreon uses Snarl which sucks up the opponent’s Resonance Gauge and prevents them being able to land critical hits
– Cubone uses Bonemerang
– This is a quick long range attack that hits multiple times and brings opponents to you
– Diglett uses Dig which makes it easy to land combos when the opponent has been hit
– Magneton uses Tri Attack which aims upward
– It lowers opponents’ Speed & Attack and is good against jumping opponents
– Quagsire uses Mud Bomb
– It is effective on players on the ground and damages even if guarded against

Information about the new support Pokemon comes from the official website. The page was also updated with new details, which are as follows:

– The Ferrum League is a feature exclusive to the Wii U version
– Beating stages adds more support Pokemon and battle areas
– This takes place in the Ferrum region
– In this region, Resonance Stones link people and their Pokemon
– Game lets you customize the player character’s gender, skin color, hair, etc.
– Encounter different trainers in the game
– Nia helps players navigate the world, and she chose Weavile
– There are also trainers who exist only in the Wii U version who are tough to beat
– Travis with his Garchomp, Keith with his Suicune and Erin with her Braixen
– Practice Mode: test your skills with no time limit or health
– Free Training: train freely
– Combo Dojo: learn various combos for the Pokemon
– My Town: alter your character’s appearance and clothing by spending the in-game currency, PokeGold

GamesMaster spoke with Splatoon producer Hisashi Nogami in its latest issue for a brief interview. At one point, Nogami reflected on how there were some jitters within the team before launch, as they weren’t sure how the multiplayer-focused game would be received.

Nogami told the magazine:

“We’ve dealt with online multiplayer in a number of titles up until now, but this was the first time we’d taken up the challenge of releasing a package game where multiplayer was the main mode. We were not 100 percent sure about how a few sections would be received, and so we’re really happy to see them being well received not only by experienced online gamers, but by a really broad range of players including children and female players too; it’s a real confidence boost. If we have the chance in the future, I’d like to build on online gameplay even more.”

GamesMaster followed those comments by pressing Nogami on the possibility of Splatoon 2 happening one day. When asked, he responded with the following:

“We want to raise this new IP with care, so maybe we’ll get a chance to make it happen if players support us.”

Splatoon updates technically ended last month. But at the Splatoon Koshien 2016 finals a couple of weeks ago, Nogami hinted at possible new content for the shooter.

Update: All services have been stored!

Splatoon’s online services are currently impacted by “emergency maintenance”. If you’re having issues playing with others, now you know why! We’ll let you know when everything is back up and running.

A new wave of Nintendo Selects will hit North American retailers on March 11, according to Video Games Plus. The lineup includes several Wii U/3DS titles, and surprisingly, some old Wii releases as well. Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, and Super Mario All-Stars are just some of the included games.

For those that are unfamiliar, Nintendo Selects typically bring about lower prices for games. It looks like some older ones will be seeing reprints as well – notably Pikmin 3 and Super Mario All-Stars.

Video Games Plus lists each new Nintendo Select at $29.99 CDN. That should amount to $20 USD.

Nintendo has not yet officially announced this new batch of Nintendo Selects. Presumably though, we should be getting an announcement soon.

New information about Shadow Mewtwo in Pokken Tournament has emerged from this month’s issue of CoroCoro.

The magazine notes that Psywave attacks can be used in multiple ways. It can go on the offensive with Power and Technical moves that keep shifting in order to confuse the opponent. While Psywave is mainly a close combat move used for setting up combos, it can also be used as a vortex to suck in opponents. It can be used as a projectile, too.
