A few hours ago, Game Informer published a new interview with Splatoon co-director Yusuke Amano and producer Hisashi Nogami. The developers talked about things like the single-player campaign, why it wouldn’t work well on 3DS, and no plans for voice chat or paid DLC.

A new Splatoon patch is coming tomorrow, Nintendo has announced. Your game will be brought up to version 2.4.0 once downloaded.

Splatoon’s latest update makes updates to matchmaking, Rainmaker, and stages. Some battle fixes have been implemented as well. The full patch notes are posted below.

It’s also worth mentioning that some Splatoon maintenance will be taking place tomorrow. All network services for the game will be affected at the following times:

– 4:50 PM PT – 6 PM PT
– 7:50 PM ET – 9 PM ET
– 12:50 AM in the UK (Friday) – 2 AM in the UK (Friday)
– 1:50 AM in Europe (Friday) – 3 AM in Europe (Friday)

Genei Ibun Roku #FE is just over a week away from its Japanese launch. Still, Famitsu is still sharing more information about the game. The magazine’s latest article features a mix of new and old tidbits.

Chikaomi Tsurugi, a newly-revealed character, is voiced by Kosugi Jurota. He is a famous actor shining in Japan’s art history, who is also the father of Yashiro. With thorough training and self-study, he has unmatched acting skills which can do any roles – something he is proud of. He’s the owner of a Performa that exceeds ordinary humans which is the origin of that acting skill.

Nintendo has revealed a pair of new Splatoon maps in a video published to its Japanese YouTube page today. Currently in the works are “Piranha Pit” as well as “Ancho-V Games”. Get a look at both in the video below.

GameStop has significant savings on its exclusive Zelda statues. We’re not sure how long the sale will last, but the Skyward Sword Link statue is down to $29.99 from $79.99. The Scervo statue has also been reduced from $124.99 to $49.99.

Another Nintendo sale comes from Amazon rather than GameStop.
Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival is now at its lowest price, as you can purchase a copy for $40 rather than $60.

TIME is the latest outlet to have put up an interview with Monolith Soft head Tetsuya Takahashi. Xenoblade Chronicles X’s data packs, western games, and his next project were among the topics discussed.

Nintendo of France shared sales numbers for a variety of titles today. We have figures for Wii U and 3DS games, plus the Animal Crossing amiibo cards.

Lifetime sales of Splatoon in France are now sitting at 280,000 copies. It’s the second most popular game after Mario Kart 8.

Also on Wii U, Super Mario Maker has sold 145,000 units thus far in France. Xenoblade Chronicles X, a game which just launched this month, has already moved 40,000 copies.

Moving on to 3DS, sales for Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer are at 220,000 units. New Style Boutique 2 – Fashion Forward has sold 110,000 copies.

Finally, one note about amiibo. Nearly 200,000 packs of Animal Crossing amiibo cards have been purchased by French consumers.

Nintendo has formed a partnership with Napster to bring the music streaming service to Wii U. Starting tomorrow, console owners in Europe can download the app for free. Those with a Napster Unlimited subscription can access the service in full. If you’re not a member, a 30-day trial can be obtained at the Napster website.

On the GamePad, users can “easily search for a specific track, album or artist as well as browse by genre, top albums, tracks and artists, ensuring music enthusiasts can discover and play the latest releases.” The controller “can also be used to access hundreds of curated radio stations by genre, artist, theme or mood, as well as Napster Playlists created by Napster’s group of resident music experts.” The app can store a library of favorite tracks and personal playlists, created in the Napster app for smartphones/tablets or through the Napster web service.

Highlighted games include Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3, Food Wars 3DS, Genei Ibun Roku #FE, Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games 3DS, Monster Strike, My Hero Academia, Pokken Tournament, and Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros.
