Super Mario Odyssey Nintendo Switch vs. Switch comparison

Super Mario Odyssey is one of a few Nintendo Switch games that’s been upgraded on Switch 2, and now we have a comparison for the two versions.

Those playing on the new console will notice a number of visual upgrades. The big change is an increase in resolution on Nintendo Switch 2. Additionally, while Super Mario Odyssey ran fine previously, the new console addresses a few hiccups with the frame rate – it’s fully stable at 100 FPS. Interestingly, loading times are pretty much the same, though Nintendo Switch 2 has a very slight edge there.

For example, Nintendo identified screen flickering issues with Pikmin 3 Deluxe, which it has now started to address. Also, for Super Mario 3D All-Stars, you’ll need to download the new patch – otherwise you can’t actually play on Nintendo Switch 2.
