Just a few moments ago, Nintendo started distribution of a version 1.4.1 update for Super Mario Odyssey.
Nintendo is still addressing a few remaining backwards compatibility issues on Switch 2. With today’s patch, that’s what’s tackled here. Nintendo says that issues have been addressed for Switch 2 players.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate just received an update, with the game moving up to version 13.0.4.
Around the launch of Nintendo Switch 2, we heard that there were some issues with the Mii Fighter. The system’s recent firmware update addressed a part of this issue, but now it has been fully resolved.

The release date for Little Nightmares 3 was just announced, and fans can rest easy knowing that it’s coming before Halloween. Bandai Namco will be publishing it on October 10, 2025. News about the release date for Little Nightmares 3 just dropped during the Little Nightmares Showcase where a Nintendo Switch 2 version was also confirmed.
It’s been a longer-than-expected wait for Little Nightmares 3. Originally announced in August 2023, the project was planned to launch the following year. However, Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games ended up pushing things back to 2025 instead.

Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist reveals Nintendo Switch physical release

The Metroidvania game Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist, which originally launched in January this year and was developed by Binary Haze Interactive, is now getting a physical release courtesy of Limited Run Games.
Pre-orders go live today at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET and will remain open until Sunday, July 27, 2025. Two editions will be available: a standard version and a collector’s edition, which includes:

Chicken Run: Eggstraction is in the works for Nintendo Switch, Outright Games announced today. The company is gearing up for a fall launch.
Chicken Run: Eggstraction is an action-stealth game. It picks up where Aardman’s 2023 film Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget left off, as the gang works together to save chicken-kind.

June 16: For those looking to dive into the just-released Gex Trilogy, we do want to mention an important point if you plan on playing it on Nintendo Switch 2.
To put it simply, right now there are issues with backwards compatibility. You may find that as you’re playing through the collection, it’s flat out broken. One of our editors is playing through it now and encountered a kill screen with no way of progressing.

Tetris 99 just announced its 47th Maximus Cup. However, this time around, there won’t be a new theme to earn.
Four previous themes are actually being brought back. If you missed out on the ones for Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Splatoon 3 and the Expansion Pass DLC, Pikmin 4, or The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, you’ll have a chance to get them now. Only 20 points is needed to earn each.

Man arrested after apparently stealing about $10,000 worth of Nintendo Switch games from libraries

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office relayed the news this week that it arrested 45-year-old Oakland man Jamal Reed-Obafumi after he allegedly stole roughly $10,000 worth of Nintendo Switch games from a number of different libraries.
Reed-Obafumi was connected to a string of at least seven different burglaries of Marin County Libraries. Robberies took place between April and June of this year. As mentioned above, multiple libraries were hit across Northern California.

The latest UK software sales chart for the week ending June 21, 2025 is now available.
For the third week in a row, Mario Kart World holds on to the top spot. Elsewhere, Raidou Remastered makes its debut, coming in at #8. PS5 accounted for 51 percent of the RPG’s sales while 29 percent for Nintendo Switch 2 and 20 percent for Switch makes up the rest.
