January 2: Some fans have been dying to see a new Punch-Out!! game – be it on Nintendo Switch or its successor. However, it looks like the wait will continue, and even if another entry happens, it may not be from Next Level Games.
Imran Khan, who writes for Venture Beat and is also with Kinda Funny Games (who previously leaked Everybody 1-2 Switch before it was announced), recently made a post on ResetEra claiming that he caught up with someone from “a studio close to Punch-Out” and heard that the characters in the Wii title received backlash relating to stereotypes, and the response was more than had been expected. It seems that following that, Nintendo more or less decided to pull the plug on continuing the franchise further.

Fans are always anticipating a Pokemon Presents presentation to go along with Pokemon Day, and it looks like another event is planned for 2025.
X user mattyoukhana_ conducted a Pokemon GO datamine and noticed a particular piece of code that has now appeared. It’s pretty clear that based on what’s stated, we’re on tap for a new Pokemon Presents 2025 broadcast on Pokemon Day. Obviously that isn’t surprising given what’s happened in years past, but we’ll take it regardless.

Original: CES 2025 is in fully swing, and while the tech event isn’t overly exciting if you’re into console gaming, a bit of Nintendo Switch 2 is coming out of the show as accessories maker Genki has a dummy model on display.
The company has the unit on hand behind closed doors. To be clear, this is not a final retail unit. However, attendees can still get their hands on the dummy device which German outlet Netzwelt says is larger in the hands. The site was told by Genki that it has the “exact dimensions” of the Nintendo Switch 2.
United Label and Odd Bug Studio are offering up the latest look at Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter with a new trailer showing off the action RPG’s ‘Elementa’ spellcasting system. The team says this allows for greater combat options.
Lead designer Jack Bennett said: “We’ve been excitedly waiting to share the news for a while that spellcasting is coming to the Ratdom in Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter. Mastering the brutal combat of sword and spear against ferocious opposition is something fans of the original game were accustomed to, so for the follow-up we really wanted to introduce another layer of in-the-moment combat options for players to command and use against Arlo’s foes. The ‘Elementa’ magics of the gods, coupled with the addition of traps, gives players that extra layer to consider, and more.”
