One fan recently asked RARE on Twitter about the possibility of a Banjo-Kazooie remake – you know, something like Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. Such a project isn’t likely based on the company’s response, but RARE did say that “anything’s possible”.

Even if a Banjo-Kazooie remake probably won’t be happening, is it something you’d like to see?

Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse could be getting a re-release. The game has been rated – with SEGA as publisher – for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PS Vita by the Brazilian ratings board. Might the classic Mickey title see new life in the future?

The Wii U could have gotten Crysis 3. Developer Crytek managed to have the shooter running on the console, and CEO Cevat Yerli went as far as to say that the studio was “very close to launching it.”

So what was the stumbling block? Yerli noted that “there was a lack of business support between Nintendo and EA”. Crysis 3 was eventually canned on Wii U since Crytek isn’t in a position to publish games.

“We did have Crysis 3 running on the Wii U. We were very close to launching it. But there was a lack of business support between Nintendo and EA on that. Since we as a company couldn’t launch on the Wii U ourselves — we don’t have a publishing license — Crysis 3 on Wii U had to die.”

Online publication GamesRadar has uploaded the first trailer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag ahead of its official unveiling on Monday. Like previous debut videos in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Black Flag’s trailer is comprised only of cinematics/CG – there’s no gameplay here, unfortunately.

ZombiU and Rayman Legends developer Ubisoft Montpellier seems to be working on a new project for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and Wii U.

Staffer Gregory Riachi lists the unannounced title on his LinkedIn profile. Riachi is lending his talents “on a full physics related project”, and development is targeting the aforementioned platforms. Interestingly, work on the game appears to have started last November.

So now the guessing game begins. Maybe a multiplatform ZombiU sequel? New IP?

Era’s Adventure features Yoshi as its lead character. But Botond Kopacz, the sole developer behind the Android release, says that he was completely unaware that the model he chose was of Nintendo’s classic dinosaur.

“Actually this is an indie game developed by one developer, so due to the limitation of effort, I purchased a cute character from TurboSquid, one of the biggest 3D asset stores, without knowing the background story of the character Yoshi, since I’m not a Super Mario fan.”

Kopacz added that he began to realize the significance of the lead character he used after he received emails “from Super Mario fans that I stole Yoshi”. However, Kopacz feels that he did not infringe upon a copyright since “no assets are stolen from any Nintendo game or website and the Yoshi’s name is not present anywhere”.

“Once the game was released on the Play Store, after spending hundreds of hours in making the game, I started receiving ‘kind’ mails from Super Mario fans that I stole Yoshi, etc. So I started Googling and I realized that the character is really from the Super Mario series. Since no assets are stolen from any Nintendo game or website and the Yoshi’s name is not present anywhere, there is no copyright violation. [There would be] at least pattern violation if the 3D model is detailedly registered in the US pattern database.”

Yoshi’s appearance slightly, according to Kopacz:

“I know that, even if I modify the character a little bit, that this will still be a big problem for the Nintendo fans, but I’m making the game alone so I have really limited time to do some changes. And I still hope that many people will find the game great and many people will enjoy it.”

Atlus appears to be bringing a semi-new Shin Megami Tensei game to the 3DS. There are reports on Twitter from those who attended a Devil Survivor 2 anime pre-screening event earlier today that “Devil Survivor 2 Break Code” is coming to Nintendo’s portable.

This summer, gamers in Japan will be able to get their hands on the updated DS title, which will feature new story and character content. More details are included in the March 28 issue of Famitsu (unclear if this is the magazine’s street date or cover date).
