Dishonored co-creative director Harvey Smith was recently asked about Wii U. Unfortunately, Smith didn’t have much to say about the console.

He did speak a little about the importance of interface though. Smith feels that the Wii’s interface “reminds me that I’m struggling”, but hopes Nintendo will “have a better fix this time around”.

Smith showed some openness to working with new devices since they provide “a very fertile ground for exploring new ideas.” He additionally stated:

“Nintendo deserves accolades for that. I just don’t know how far the new console goes. I didn’t perceive what people’s excitement of the device was. I don’t know why, but it didn’t show up on my filter somehow.”

All of Smith’s comments are posted below.

For the most part, Ghostlight’s localization history has been all about RPGs. The company’s latest project is related to an entirely different project, however.

Ghostlight announced today that it’ll be bringing the Japanese destructive driving title Runabout 3D to Europe. When it releases in the continent, the game will be called “Crash City Mayhem”.

A release date hasn’t been set. But if I had to guess, I’d estimate a late 2012/early 2013 launch.

Toki Tori is heading to the European eShop next week… finally! The game will be available on August 2 for £3.60 / €4.00.

We’re hoping that a North American release isn’t too far behind. If we’re lucky, the game will show up on both shops next Thursday.

When we last heard about the possibility of Crysis 3 on Wii U, Crytek’s director of creative development Rasmus Hoejengaard basically said it wouldn’t happen. And more recently, founder and CEO Cevat Yerli indicated the studio has no plans for the platform.

Now Crytek is changing its tune a bit.

When Rasmus’ comments were brought up in an interview with Crytek games producer Mike Read, he noted that Crysis 3 “is a possibility” for Wii U, adding that the studio is “working with Nintendo”.

Looks like it’s another great week for Nintendo digital downloads. Two 3DS VC games, one Wii VC game, two eShop sales, Planet Crashers, and more. No complaints from us!

As one would expect, Square Enix has significant promotional plans for Dragon Quest X.

Shibuya Tsutaya and Japanese music group SMAP will highlight the game’s advertising. Similar to previous DQ releases, Tsutaya will be making an appearance at the Dragon Quest X launch event next month. SMAP, meanwhile, has filmed a number of commercials that begin airing in Japan today and it also showed up at a completion ceremony event yesterday.

Other promotional plans relate to tie-up items. Figures, plushies, accessories, and a “Slime” flavored gum from Lotte are all on the way.
