Update: Both of these rumors have been confirmed and we now have further details.
Mighty Switch Force’s update will improve on the game’s 3D affect and will incorporate a quick-retry button.
Cave Story will be released on the eShop in the form of a new version. It will contain a jukebox mode, adjustable controls, Boss Rush, Curly Story, Hell Time Attack, Wind Fortress, Nemesis Challenge, widescreen and 3D support. Cave Story for DSiWare could be pulled from the eShop, but it will remain on the DSi’s store.
The latest issue of Nintendo Power allegedly confirms new content for one eShop title and one retail game.
First, Mighty Switch Force will be receiving five free new levels as part of an update. In addition to this, the magazine says that Nicalis is working on an “upgraded” version of Cave Story 3D.
The situation should become clearer as more subscribers receive their issue of Nintendo Power.
Nintendo of America has registered a trio of domain names within the past week. “FireEmblemAwakening.com”, “NewSuperMarioBros2.com”, and “Pokedex3dPro.com” have all been picked up by the company.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 has already been confirmed for North America. Pokedex 3D Pro is probably the English name for Pokemon Zenkoku Zukan Pro, the updated version of Pokedex 3D that will be hitting Japan this June. As far as Fire Emblem: Awakening is concerned, we can only hope the domain registration is a sign of an upcoming localization announcement.
A unique reward has been added to the North American Club Nintendo website today.
Six different “Surprise Me Box” items are now available. Each prize costs 300 coins, but are worth a minimum of 500 coins. There are “at least two surprises” in the package.
Members can choose from Mario, Goomba, Luigi, Peach, Toad, and Yoshi boxes. The Mario and Yoshi boxes are currently sold out, however.
More information about the reward can be found here.
Activision is releasing a number of teasers leading up to the reveal of the next Call of Duty. Today’s video features a YouTube clip titled “Prototype Quadrotor with Machine Gun!”.
The futuristic flying quadrotor RC drone weapon could be added into the new Call of Duty title. It’s controlled remotely and can hit enemies through a mounted machine gun. Users manipulate the device with a tablet that is capable of showing a bird’s eye view of the area.
As mentioned in the video:
“Looks like the future’s going to be fun. But if you can’t wait another 15 years, my friends are telling me that this baby might just be in the next Call of Duty game, which would be the s**t.”
Activision will unveil the next Call of Duty (almost certainly Black Ops 2) during the first round of the 2012 NBA playoffs on May 1.
Update: Bumping to the front page, as this has now confirmed (see scan below).

Nintendo Everything reader Sondast tells us that the May 2012 issue of Nintendo Power has confirmed New Play Control! Pikmin 2 for North America. It’s apparently releasing this June. This does seem likely, but we’ll mark this as a rumor until we can verify the news.
New Play Control! Pikmin 2 made it out in Japan and Europe back in 2009. Even though the Wii port of the first game was brought stateside, the sequel was not released in North America. Launching New Play Control! Pikmin 2 would be a great way to remind fans of Pikmin 3’s impending arrival on Wii U.
