Thanks to Robert for the tip!

“What we want to be able to do is create the most intense, the most cinematic ‘you can’t believe this is running on the Wii’ situation that you could imagine. That’s what people expect from Call Of Duty. They expect to be blown away. We’re going to blow you away.” – Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia

I have to admit, Treyarch has produced some impressive results with Nintendo’s console. I’m just hoping that Activision will promote the game, unlike last year when they essentially acted like Modern Warfare: Reflex Edition didn’t exist. It’d be nice if we didn’t have to wait until the game’s release to see in-game footage.

THE GREAT ONE WAYNE GRETZKY NAMED COVER ATHLETE OF ALL-NEW EA SPORTS NHL SLAPSHOT
First EA SPORTS NHL Title on Wii to Include Hockey Stick Controller
GUILDFORD, UK. – 1st June, 2010 – Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) revealed today that EA SPORTSTM is developing their first ever NHL® hockey title for the WiiTM Console, NHL®SLAPSHOT, and that NHL Hall of Famer , Wayne Gretzky, will grace the cover. NHL®SLAPSHOT introduces a revolutionary hockey stick controller that allows players to shoot, pass and body check just like the pros. In addition to having his likeness on the front of all packaging, Gretzky will be available as a playable character when NHL® SLAPSHOT is available in retail stores this September.

“EA SPORTSTM has been making great hockey games in Canada for 20 years now, and the team behind the game is really passionate about the sport,” said Gretzky. “Being on the cover of the new Wii version of the game is exciting and is probably going to make me a bit cooler in the eyes of my kids.”

Get Ready To Fight For Your Life

GUILDFORD, U.K., June 1, 2010 – Today the EA Play Label of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced that two Harry Potter and the Deathly HallowsTM videogames are in development to coincide with the much-anticipated final adventure in the Harry Potter film series from Warner Bros. Pictures which will be told in two full-length parts. The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 videogame will be released this autumn on all major gaming platforms.

With all the action taking place outside of Hogwarts for the first time, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 represents a shift in tone for the Harry Potter games. On the run with a horde of merciless enemies on their tail, players will find themselves in unknown territory, far from the safety of the school grounds, fighting for survival at every turn.

The only thing we’ve heard about The Last Story’s release date is that the game is supposed to launch in Japan sometime this year. Although that can still happen, it seems as though development will carry on a bit longer than expected. Hironobu Sakaguchi updated his blog yesterday and told fans that production time has been extended. This news is somewhat odd as Sakaguchi recently said that the game was approaching the end of development. However, it’s possible that something simple such as the need for extra polish resulted in the title’s “delay.” It seems very likely that The Last Story will make an appearance at E3, so hopefully Nintendo will officially announce the game for North America and share a concrete release date for all territories.

Most frustratingest game ever?

I really don’t understand Monster Hunter Tri at all. Everything that makes logical sense about the game says that it should not be good: The controls are archaic, 80% of it is grinding, the single player has a lackluster story, it’s unbearably frustrating, and it sucks up hours upon hours of your time to make any sort of significant progress in the game. Regardless, I have fallen so far in love with the game that I have spent all of my spare time playing it. I didn’t have a feature up yesterday. Any idea why? Yes, it was Monster Hunter’s fault. When I’m that addicted to a game, usually I can track the reasons why I love it. Zelda games, for instance, have fantastic gameplay, great atmosphere, and awesome level design. But Monster Hunter doesn’t have very much going for it, yet, for some reason I can tell it is going to be a game I clock well over 100 hours into. It really is the greatest bad game I have ever played.

“With the iPad going on sale, the epoch of Nintendo is finished. But with the DS and the Wii, it’s been digging its own grave.” – Masato Kato, the writer of FFVII, Xenogears and Chrono Trigger

Hmmm…I’m not too sure I agree with these remarks! Both of Nintendo’s current systems have been undeniably successful since they were released and paved the way for new types of gaming. I’d also say that the company has a bright future ahead with the 3DS.
