“The Wii Speak microphone is still available at limited retail locations. Additional shipments can be made if consumer demand increases.” – Nintendo statement

“Honestly, it boils down to this: the firmware required to support the PDP headset is incompatible with Wii Speak. We had to decide which one device to support. Sadly, we knew either route was likely to tick off some of our fans. So, we chose to support the best option for gameplay. And at the end of the day, the headset peripheral is more in line with what we believe our fans and first shooter players want/expect.” – Eric Nofsinger, High Voltage

In this case, I definitely see where High Voltage is coming from. I would much rather communicate through a headset rather than WiiSpeak when playing a first-person shooter. How about you guys?

This information comes from Q-Games…

“The 3DS does look like it could be a pretty amazing piece of hardware, doesn’t it? I’m just as excited about it as you are. Unfortunately, I’m sorry to say that we can neither confirm or deny any 3DS development…”

I think it’s only a matter of time before we see a 3DS project from Q-Games. The company worked on Star Fox Command for DS, as well as a number of DSiWare titles.

Award-Winning Video Game Features Cast of Classic Characters, Innovative Paint and Thinner Gameplay, Progressive “Playstyle Matters” Approach and Launches Today with an Epic Star-Studded Event in Times Square

BURBANK, Calif. – (November 30, 2010) – Disney Interactive Studios today announced that critically acclaimed Disney Epic Mickey exclusively for Wii™ is now available at retail stores across North America. Disney Epic Mickey ushers in an innovative approach to gameplay as players assume the role of the iconic Mickey Mouse and are given the power to wield paint and paint thinner to dynamically change the world while determining Mickey’s path to becoming an epic hero. The Disney Epic Mickey launch is being celebrated today at the Disney Store in Times Square from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. ET, where fans will have the opportunity to be the first to purchase copies of the game, meet game designer Warren Spector and celebrity guests, receive collectible custom sketch drawings from the video game artists and much more.

First previewed in June at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), North America’s most prominent video game showcase, the game captured more than 25 awards, including “Best Action/Adventure Game” from USAToday.com and “Best Wii Game” and “Best Action/Adventure Game” from IGN.com.

Being one of the top selling games of this generation thus far, New Super Mario Bros. Wii is also the highest selling Wii game in Japan, being the first one to top 4 million units sold. This isn’t much a surprise, considering the DS NSMB has sold more than 20 million copies, but it’s still good to know that Mario has still got a lot of life in him!

Worldwide, the game has sold more then 16 million copies.
