Starting with Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda has moved away from the linear and traditional 3D games fans had been accustomed to since Ocarina of Time. The series is now focusing on “open air” experiences with a huge world to explore and with much more freedom. Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom have done well from both in terms of sales and reception, though some fans miss what came before.

Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has now responded to some of those discussions as part of an interview with IGN. Here’s what Aonuma shared when asked how he feels about those who miss linear Zelda given where the series is at now:

Hello Games has put out one last update for No Man’s Sky to end 2023, and players can now access “Holiday 2023 Expeditions” – or version 4.46.

Expeditions are happening in new sections of the universe, “offering explorers another opportunity to experience these stories and events and earn exclusive rewards.” Players can also find community favorite Cartographers from 2021 as a limited run. We also have to mention that Hello Games has made even more visual improvements for the Switch version.

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart. Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island has taken over as the new top Switch title.

The new Super Mario RPG remake is available now for Switch, and we’ve written a big list of helpful guides to help you tackle the game’s toughest challenges. Fortnite has seen a ton of different collaborations over the years, but Nintendo isn’t represented at all with any of its characters or franchises. However, Epic Games is very much interested in making something happen on that front at some point in the future.

Epic’s head of Fortnite’s ecosystem, Saxs Persson, recently said the following when asked by Axios how hard the company has tried working with Nintendo: “I don’t know what the word for, like, making diamonds is.”
