Atlus uploaded a new trailer for Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight today. In the video, we get a look at Flavio the Survivalist.

Continue on below for the new Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight trailer as well as an overview of the character straight from Atlus.

At first I was bound, I was petrified!
Kept thinkin’ I would never live
Without Flavio by my side…

And I was right, because instead of showing him the door as in Gloria Gaynor’s disco masterpiece, players should welcome Flavio the Survivalist to their party with open arms in Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold’s story mode! Flavio (and Survivalists in Classic mode) is a deadly archer that can inflict a number of status debuffs on monsters in the Labyrinth, not to mention he has access to “Flank Shot” early on, which does damage to multiple enemies.

True to his class, Survivalists also have some dodge-tanking skills in the form of “Trick Step” and “Chain Dance.” The former skill lowers an enemy’s hit rate, and the latter raises the Survivalist’s target and evade rate. The hilarious “Scapegoat” skill lowers incoming damage to an ally, but forces them to act as a shield for the whole party.

For strategic Survivalists, Risk Perception skills will help Flavio reveal chests and F.O.E.s, raise the party’s sneak-attack rate, and even lower the encounter rate while in dungeons.

Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight is launching in North America on August 4, Atlus has announced. Like all of the company’s games, this one will be sold both in stores and on the eShop.

For those who haven’t heard about Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight previously, here’s a handy overview:

The first-person dungeon crawler from the classic Etrian franchise is updated with an all-new standalone story, complete with voiced characters who must adventure through the mysterious forest labyrinth and the ruins of Ginnungagap, where they may uncover the secret origins of the Fafnir Knight and his power to transform and use demonic powers.

The story mode is only half of the game, as Classic mode will allow players to play in the traditional Etrian fashion – by putting a party together from 13 unique classes and then clawing through dungeons to prove your mettle. Introduced in the first Untold game, both Classic and Story modes allow players to choose their own difficulty, from Picnic to Expert.

The choice of whether to start with Story or Classic mode will be up to you, when Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight launches on August 4!

First, we have a new trailer for Arianna:

Here’s an official overview of the character:

Who says Princesses need saving? Meet Arianna, the Princess of Caledonia, and one of the five party members in Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold’s Story mode! Not one to wait in a tower and be rescued, Arianna runs straight into battle alongside her friends and helps them dish out the pain! She’s modeled after the Sovereign class, and has a strong balance of defense and support abilities, specifically passive healing!

As the Princess of Caledonia, Arianna must trek to ancient, mysterious ruins and complete a ritual to fulfill a royal tradition to save her kingdom. The abandoned ruins have become a home to a horde of dangerous monsters however, and your party will need to rely on Arianna for support in order to complete her royal quest!

New SpotPass content and DLC is out now for Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker.

In terms of DLC, players can now obtain the following:

Lost Demon Rescue (FREE)
===
A persuadable demon is caught in the middle of two hordes. If you can protect the demon and survive the onslaught, the demon will join your party! Use it to bolster your ranks or keep it for fusion fodder.
All Skills Must Go! ($0.99)
===
Scattered around the battlefield are memory sticks loaded with powerful skills for your party. But the demons around have their eyes on them too, and will try and abscond with the memory sticks. This is one situation when you’re going to want to make sure to use non-combat skills that slow down enemies and/or speed up your party.
Let the Demons Grow ($0.99)
===
This is an old-fashioned free-for-all battle. These demons are loaded with extra experience, so systematically pick them off to reap EXP rewards and level your entire party.

The new SpotPass content, as pictured above, allows for new demon fusions.
