Nyamyam unsure about making a Wii U exclusive given the risk
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 3 Comments
Tengami creator Nyamyam was asked by one fan on Twitter today if the studio would ever consider making a Wii U exclusive. Nyamyam pointed out that making games exclusive to the platform is “risky” at this point, and the company would need “to see how the platform develops.”
@GoldMetalSonic It is very risky to do a Wii U exclusive at this point. Would have to see how the platform develops.
— Nyamyam (@nyamyamgames) December 30, 2014
@GoldMetalSonic I guess it would depend on whether the development costs were completely covered up front.
— Nyamyam (@nyamyamgames) December 30, 2014
As for future Wii U support in general, it sounds like Nyamyam would be open to making additional titles in the future. The studio “would love to make games” for the Nintendo community, which “is super fun.”
@GoldMetalSonic It is not all that bad. The Nintendo community is super fun. I would love to make games for them.

Nyamyam says Tengami sales on Wii U “have been somewhat disappointing”
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 17 Comments
Update: Nyamyam also added the following on Twitter…
I think people are reading a little bit too much into Phil saying the Wii U sales were disappointing, as he doesn't give a reference point..
— Nyamyam (@nyamyamgames) December 30, 2014
..for what good sales would have looked like.
— Nyamyam (@nyamyamgames) December 30, 2014
Sales number X might be disappointing to Phil, but good news for another developer.
— Nyamyam (@nyamyamgames) December 30, 2014
Nyamyam hasn’t disclosed any specific sales figures for Tengami, but the studio says that the game’s performance on Wii U has been “somewhat disappointing”.
Co-creator Phil Tossell told Nintendo Life in a recent interview:
Tengami has done very well for us on iOS. No doubt the worldwide Editor’s Choice was a large contributing factor. I hate to think what might have happened had we not been featured. I’d say that the Wii U sales have been somewhat disappointing. Although we had much lower expectations than iOS, I think even taking that into consideration we’ve been disappointed with the sales so far.
Tengami has been out on Wii U for about two months. Hopefully the game’s sales can pick up over time!

Cube Creator 3D likely to receive Circle Pad Pro support in the future
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News | 2 Comments
Cube Creator 3D may not feature use of the Circle Pad Pro at launch. However, developer Big John Games has indicated that support will arrive through a future update.
The studio wrote on Twitter earlier this month:
For those asking re: Circle Pad Pro – the initial release may not include it, but we'll work towards that in future updates. #CubeCreator3D

Trashmania Trilogy moved back to late May/early June, will feature online functionality
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
When we last heard about Trashmania Trilogy, the download was targeted for Q1 2015 on Wii U. Those plans have since changed.
Creator Jonathon Bont took to Twitter today and confirmed that Trashmania Trilogy has been pushed back to late May/early June. This is due to “the unexpected size the project has grown to.”
To make up for the delay news, Bont confirmed that Trashmania Trilogy will feature online functionality. There will be “online leaderboards for Classic+ and custom level sharing for Remix+”, and Bont teased that “the latter approaches level sharing in a unique way.”
It's official: I'm pushing Trashmania Trilogy's release date to late May/early June 2015. #wiiu
— Jonathon Bont (@Animan13) December 28, 2014
Official reasons are not technical or Wii U specific issues, but instead a lack of time and the unexpected size the project has grown to.
— Jonathon Bont (@Animan13) December 28, 2014
HOWEVER, as a way of saying sorry, here's an announcement to cheer you guys up: online functionality is being worked on!
— Jonathon Bont (@Animan13) December 28, 2014
Specifically, online leaderboards for Classic+ and custom level sharing for Remix+… the latter approaches level sharing in a unique way.
— Jonathon Bont (@Animan13) December 28, 2014
I won't give away what makes it unique, but I'll just say it's different from how it's normally done. 😉
