Ansimuz Games has almost finished work on its Zelda II-inspired Elliot Quest, a new indie adventure RPG with five dungeons, 16 bosses, and plenty of treasure. Players will explore the Urele island in search of an ancient demon.

Here’s an official story overview:

After Elliot’s wife disappears, he falls sick and attempts to take his own life-only to discovers that he can’t die. Plagued by nightmares and growing weaker by the day, Elliot seeks out a local Sage, who tells him that he’s the victim of a rare curse. A demon called a Satar is slowly consuming Elliot’s vitality. If Elliot can’t find a cure to the curse before it’s too late, he will become a Satar. His only hope is to ask for the help of one of the island’s Guardians, who have kept the Satar from taking over Urele. Elliot can’t die—but he’s still running out of time.

Elliot Quest offers character customization through a leveling up system, a variety of magic attacks, chain attacks to make enemies drop more items, a trio of unique endings based on your decisions, and more.

Elliot Quest will be released for Wii U via the eShop in early 2015. You’ll find a trailer above. An early alpha demo for browsers is located here.

The WiiWare version of Retro City Rampage will soon be updated with “DX” content. All missions have been tweaked, which extends to vehicles, weapons, challenges, visual effects, visual enhancements, checkpoints, difficulty, and challenges. Enhancements have been made to the core gameplay as well as smaller elements such as parking garages and waypoints.

Once the “DX” content is released, Retro City Rampage on WiiWare will be in line with the other versions of the game – mostly anyway. Only HD video filters and zoom modes will be missing. The Wii Remote, Classic Controller and GameCube Controller will all be supported, and there’s an optional “shake” gesture exclusive to the Wii Remote.

Retro City Rampage has also been rated in Australia in New Zealand, so the game should be out in these territories soon. Meanwhile, look forward to the “DX” update in other regions on November 13.

TakusanWorks is bringing Shuttle Rush to the Wii U eShop this Thursday, the indie developer has announced.

Here’s an official overview of the game:

Shuttle Rush is a fast-paced labyrinth game where you will have to use strategic pathfinding to reach the exit while avoiding enemies, and using rapid maneuvering through different environments. You will need multiple attempts to reach new areas of each level by memorizing patterns (and, sometimes, by breaking those patterns) to arrive at the gate before time runs out.

Temple of Yog developer CHUDCHUD Industries has a second Wii U title in the works. Creator Cody Diefenthaler has been tweeting out a bunch of photos and Vine clips of “uWordsmith”, a new game for the eShop.

Diefenthaler hasn’t explicitly explained uWordsmith’s gameplay, but as the name implies, it seems to be all about putting letters together to form certain words and solving puzzles. There seems to be various modes included like “arcade” and “challenge”. It will also be possible to share records on Miiverse.

You’ll find a few of the items tweeted by Diefenthaler below. There’s also quite a bit more on his Twitter account.

An unnamed indie developer (currently going as “Robin64” on NeoGAF) has revealed a new game for the Wii U known as “Break the World”. It’s an Alleyway clone set to be released on the eShop sometime in the future.

Here’s what we know thus far:

– 8 locations
– 3 levels in each
– 1 or 2 secret levels as well
– Marathon: has every level in order to obtain the highest score
– Level Select (temp): pick a world and the three levels loop, with blocks starting to slide down faster with each loop
– 3 paddles to choose
– Each paddle has its own power
– Paddles can level up
– Ex: at level 1 the red paddle fires one laser shot, but at level 10 you get ten shots
– May have leaderboards at launch, but definitely at some point
– There is a screen showing full stats that you can post to Miiverse
– Off-TV play supported
