Inti Creates has a second self-funded title in development

Azure Striker Gunvolt isn’t the only independent title Inti Creates is working on. A second self-funded project is also planned, according to Inti Creates CEO Takuya Aizu.
Aizu told Siliconera:
“We are running five projects [at the moment], And there is one project, apart from Gunvolt, that uses self-funding. However, that may change in the future—whether we finance it entirely ourselves or not.”
“We also run projects in cooperation [with other companies]. If Gunvolt succeeds, we can increase our self-published projects. So please support Inti Creates!”
Aizu also said the following when asked about Inti Creates’ split in development staff between original development and games being developed and funded by other publishers:
“At first, we make a prototype with a small number of people, and then increase the staff assigned to it at the production stage. On the other hand, most games for publishers make use of a great number of people from the beginning. Thus, when making games for publishers, the staff ratio increases.”
“If Gunvolt or Mighty No. 9 is a hit, I think that we may increase the ratio of our staff assigned to original development to half. But at the same time, we won’t stop development for publishers.”

Azure Striker Gunvolt – Gunvolt will keep his braided hair in the US version

Keiji Inafune met with Inti Creates CEO Takuya Aizu earlier today to discuss a few items pertaining to Azure Striker Gunvolt.
According to the game’s official Twitter account, Gunvolt will be modified in the US version once again so that the character’s braided hair will be kept in tact. This was originally removed from the Japanese version – as shown above.
Inafune-san and Aizu-san also discussed the character design of Gunvolt for US version. #gunvolt

Inafune-san concluded that Gunvolt keeps "braided hair" in US version too. Because he emphasises the design. #gunvolt

The Azure Striker Gunvolt Twitter account also touched on Gunvolt’s midriff:
As for the "bare midriff", leave the Gunvolt's separate clothes design as it is, we decided to make him wear the black skin tights. #gunvolt

Inti Creates still working on Azure Striker Gunvolt’s western character design
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News | 10 Comments
According to Inti Creates CEO Takuya Aizu, the studio is still working on the character design for Azure Striker Gunvolt.
Aizu told Siliconera:
“During the development of Gunvolt, we researched what kind of design would appeal to boys between the ages of 10 and 14—who we assume will be the game’s main purchasers—in North America. As a result, we changed Gunvolt’s design, because braided hair and a bare midriff were unpopular among them. However, these changes are not final. We will continue to do research into the matter.”
Some noticed that some changes had been made to main character Gunvolt in the North American version. Basically, the western design drops his bare midriff and ponytail. It’s not much, but some feel that no changes should be made.

Can you spot the changes in the graphic above? The two are mostly the same, though the North American artwork features a shorter hair style and a slightly more conservative outfit.

Mighty No. 9 details
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
In an update posted on the game’s official website, Inti Creates and Comcpet shared a few more details about Mighty No. 9.
In terms of Beck’s maneuverability options, players will be able to run, dash, and blast. This includes a downwards dash and a backwards jump, director Koji Imaeda points out.
We also have a tiny bit of new story information as well:
In the game, Beck can run, dash and blast baddies with the best of them, but the truth is he’s a kind and somewhat timid robot. He was never able to display his true talents in the Battle Colosseum, and came to be seen as the weak link holding back his team of fellow Mighty Nos. Gradually he lost more and more self-confidence…until! The global robot rampage!!
Beck was the only robot who didn’t go berserk, which is why he alone is charged with the daunting task of resolving the crisis. At first Beck can’t shake his fears and anxiety, but with the encouragement of his creator Dr. White, he eventually resolves to take on the mission!
