Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Alyn Shir Arena Mode

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning just got a new update on Switch, featuring Alyn Shir content and Arena Mode.

While the patch only includes those two items, they’re pretty significant. Alyn Shir has players following clues and traveling to different locations to find “a very delicate item left behind by the infamous assassin herself.” Arena Mode is also totally new, allowing players to fight hordes of enemies in different rounds.

Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning Fatesworn Switch

After a lengthy wait, the Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning – Fatesworn DLC has finally been released on Switch.

This expansion was confirmed for Nintendo’s system at the end of 2021 and was planned for the following year. Last December, however, it was delayed to 2023.

Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning Fatesworn delayed 2023

The Fatesworn expansion for Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning came out around this time on most platforms last year, but when we last heard about it for Switch, the new content was planned for 2022. However, there hasn’t been much in the way of news over the past few months. With only a few days left in the year, perhaps it’s unsurprising to state that the Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Fatesworn expansion has been delayed to 2023 on Switch.

That news comes from the official Twitter account. While it’s a bit of a disappointment, THQ Nordic did clarify that the expansion is “almsot done” for Nintendo’s console. We don’t have any sort of date, but it’s apparently coming soon – so an early 2023 launch isn’t out of the question.

Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning Fatesworn

A new Fatesworn expansion is in development for Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning and will reach Switch in 2022, THQ Nordic has announced.

The game originally released in 2012. Over the past year or so, THQ Nordic has been bringing an updated version to various platforms, including Switch. Fatesworn will be appearing on most platforms later this month, though the Switch version won’t be ready to go until 2022.

As for what Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning – Fatesworn includes, we have the following overview:

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning received a new update addressing some issues. Here are the full patch notes translated by Perfectly Nintendo:

Some games are like fine wine and age better with time whether through sheer nostalgia, groundbreaking ideas, or art direction while others are lost in the wind or just manage to barely stay alive through a small but dedicated fanbase. Despite originally being published by EA, Kingdoms of Amalur leans more towards the latter of having that cult following. While there are many reasons for this, the game was well-received at the time, though it wasn’t exactly brought up in conversation when discussing popular western or medieval RPGs. But now thanks to THQ Nordic, Kingdoms of Amalur gets another shot in modern times with a remaster that’s worthy of a second chance, even if it is visually untouched outside of polish – at least on Switch.
