Fire Emblem Warriors: Pair of original characters revealed; Marth is also playable
Posted on 7 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in New Nintendo 3DS, News, Switch | 89 Comments
Surprisingly enough, our first proper look at Fire Emblem Warriors (after that brief trailer featuring Chrom a couple of months ago) comes not from E3, but instead from Famitsu. We only have preview images of the article in this week’s Famitsu magazine about Fire Emblem Warriors at the moment, but we can nonetheless learn a couple of things from them.
It seems like the game’s main characters, much like Fire Emblem Heroes, will be a brother and sister pair – original characters Shion and Lian. It also comes as no surprise that Marth will be playable as well.
We will have more information once we get our hands on the full issue of Famitsu tomorrow.

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Taishi details
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 4 Comments
Gematsu translated some details about Nobunaga’s Ambition: Taishi which was just recently announced for Switch. We’ve rounded up the information below.
– Out in Japan this winter
– 3D maps that were popular in the previous game are more detailed
– Nationwide maps are 100 times more detailed
– Will System: each character has a “Will”
– This “Will” means “way of life”
– Indicates how the warlords will act
– Since each warlord’s Will is different, how to proceed the game will also change
– Will also influences the commands you choose and specific tactics
– Battles consist of “Command Phases” and “Advance Phases”
– Calmly think about what you want to do without rushing to take action during the Command Phase
– Time is stopped during this phase
– Daimyo AI have will-associated goals
– In diplomacy, there is also multilateral judgment based on will
– Same scale of warlords appearing as in Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence – Ascension, which had over 2,000
– The team wanted to let you to taste the feeling of being against people, which was the basic design of Taishi
-The will system was born from there
– In previous games, actions by daimyo other than the player were decided based on the current situation
– In this game, goals are the underlying thought
– Actions are chosen from the idea of “what kind of actions are necessary to achieve my goal?”
– Partway through the final goal set for each daimyo, if he is judged to be “harmful” he will be seen as an enemy
– Then you’ll have to act according to that will
– There are plans to include new elements on the battle side
– Up until now, stocking up on lots of territory, troops, and vassals equaled strength
– This time, Koei Tecmo is using a system where the level of power exhibited will change based on the compatibility between the daimyo and vassals’ Wills.

Fire Emblem Warriors won’t be Koei Tecmo’s only Switch-exclusive game
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 52 Comments
Koei Tecmo has been one of the strongest third-party supporters of Switch thus far. Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII and Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence are already available – at least in Japan. Nights of Azure 2 and Nobunaga’s Ambition: Taishi were also recently announced. Of course, we also can’t forget that Fire Emblem Warriors (in partnership with Nintendo) is on the way. You can also sort of count Dragon Quest Heroes I-II, as it was made by Omega Force, a division within Koei Tecmo.
Koei Tecmo has even more plans for Switch in the future. At a financial results briefing this week, chairman Keiko Erikawa noted that the company’s multiplatform engine has Switch embedded, meaning it can generate PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch titles automatically from a single source. Erikawa also spoke positively about Switch’s “anytime anywhere” concept and believes it will be successful, so they’ll to continue support it.
Koei Tecmo is already working on Switch exclusive title(s) other than Fire Emblem Warriors. Also, they’ll deliver Switch games one after another.
