Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

As we found out through a Target Black Friday ad, Nintendo is preparing a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Switch bundle for the holidays. Best Buy provides a first look at the packaging, which we have above.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s latest update is now available to download. Version 1.7.0 adds in support for the Nintendo Labo Vehicle Kit and Nintendo Switch Online app.

We’ve included the official patch notes below.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is just a few days away from supporting the new Nintendo Labo Vehicle Kit. After an update goes live on September 19, players will be able to use the Toy-Con Car, Toy-Con Pedal, and Toy-Con Key to control their in-game vehicle.

As you’ll remember, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also supports the Nintendo Labo Vehicle Kit. That functionality was added back in June.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe unexpectedly received an update a few days ago. After downloading the latest data, players can ride on the Master Cycle Zero using Link from Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Producer Kosuke Yabuki shared a message about the new update a few days ago. If you’re interested in reading the full translation, continue on below.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was updated a short while ago with the addition of Link from Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the Master Cycle Zero. Have a look at some footage below.

Very recently, Nintendo teased more updates for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The company is delivering on that front with new content from Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

All players can download version 1.6.0 for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It features Link in his Champion’s Tunic, the Master Cycle Zero, and more.

Earlier in the week, we heard that Nintendo was filing something at Universal Citywalk. We just didn’t know what.

Unfortunately, what was taking place was seemingly less exciting than most had imagined. An attendee has confirmed that a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournament was taking place. Nintendo may share some footage from the event, but it sounds like there isn’t a whole lot more to it.

Nintendo posted a new video with Shinya Takahashi in which he discusses a few different Switch games, including Smash Bros. Ultimate. You can watch it below.

The big takeaway here is that Takahashi mentions “further updates for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe”. That was after he talked about the new Nintendo Labo integration. Could those future updates simply be more tie-ins for Labo or something else?

Over a year after its release, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been updated. Nintendo has added some special functionality to the game. Once you’ve installed the latest patch, it’ll be compatible with Nintendo Labo.

The compatibility specifically extends to the Toy-Con Motorbike. This is included with the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit.
