Sakuna Of Rice and Ruin art book

Thanks to PIE International, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is getting an official art book. It will include character designs plus sketches, prop designs, background art, package illustrations, and more. The book will also have comments from director Nal, main artist Ryota Murayama, and Koichi (general / planning assistance).

What might be the most noteworthy aspect of the book is that it will actually feature English text. It’ll be included right alongside all of the Japanese information. The book has thus far only been announced for Japan, but even if we don’t see it in North America / Europe, importing will be an option. Play-Asia actually already has pre-orders here.

Below are a few preview pages from the Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin art book:

Rune Factory 5 limited edition

XSEED and Marvelous today unveiled a limited edition for Rune Factory 5 in North America (known as the “Earthmate Edition in the states) and Europe.

All copies will include a custom outer box featuring artwork from series illustrator Minako Iwasaki, a copy of the game in an exclusive steelbook case, large 5.8” by 8.2” softcover artbook with over 70 pages of character illustrations, concept art, and more, a ‘Melodies of Norad’ soundtrack CD featuring 15 songs specially selected from across the entire Rune Factory series, and 13 exclusive in-game costumes based on the marriage candidates (+ Dolce’s ghostly companion Pico) from Rune Factory. Pricing is set at $79.99 / £64.99 / €79.99.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town has shipped over one million copies, Marvelous announced today. That piece of data applies to the combined performance of copies sent to stores as well as digital sales. Back in March, a sales milestone of 700,000 copies was announced.

In May, XSEED said that the game was its fastest-selling title at the time. It managed to sell over 200,000 copies in North America after only two months. Before Pioneers of Olive Town, Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town was the previous fastest-selling game for XSEED.

No More Heroes 1.5

It took over a decade, but No More Heroes 1.5 has finally received an English dub.

No More Heroes 1.5, a motion comic, was included with the Hopper’s Edition of No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle in Japan. It was intended to bridge the gap between the series’ first two entries. Suda51 wrote the story, and apparently kept it secret from most Grasshopper Manufacture staffers while it was being created.

Rune Factory 5 same-sex marriage

When Rune Factory 5 comes to the west, it’ll support same-sex marriage. According to an announcement shared by Marvelous and XSEED, “for the first time in the series Earthmates can choose any of the twelve eligible marriage candidates regardless of gender”.

no more heroes 1 and 2 switch physical

No More Heroes 1 and 2 previous received physical versions on Switch in the west through Limited Run Games. Now, however, Arc System Works and Marvelous are planning a new release in Asia that will bring the two together.

The new physical version of No More Heroes 1 and 2 for Switch apparently contains both games on a single cartridge. This is in contrast to what we saw with Limited Run Games, as they were individual releases previously.

daemon x machina sequel

Daemon X Machina will have some sort of sequel in the future, producer Kenichiro Tsukuda has teased.

Tsukuda made a few vague comments about the future of the IP during a second anniversary stream earlier today. He noted that “we will make some kind of sequel”, though “it’s going to take time.”

Below is Nintendo Everything’s full translation of Tsukuda’s comments:
