On December 17, Minecraft will finally be heading to Wii U. We have a quick look at the game now below.
I’ve never actually played Minecraft before, so I was kind of messing around more than anything! You can see the controls, look at the options, see some of the tutorial, and watch me doing random things in the Skyrim world for a tiny bit.

No inventory management in Minecraft: Wii U Edition on the GamePad
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 25 Comments
Minecraft: Wii U Edition won’t let players manage their inventory by using the GamePad. Instead, the controller simply acts as an alternate screen for off-TV play. So says Mojang’s Owen Hill, who tweeted the following yesterday:
@jimmyhizz Not at the moment, sorry. It's just used as an alternate screen if someone is using the TV. Would be cool though. 🙂

This really feels like something that would make Minecraft much, much better on Wii U. Hopefully the functionality will be considered for a future update.

In North America (and presumably Europe), Mojang is publishing Minecraft: Wii U Edition. But that’s not the case in Japan. Microsoft, the new owner of the IP, is publishing the game directly over there. Kind of makes for an interesting situation!

Mojang dev on what sort of experience Minecraft would be on 3DS
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 21 Comments
Mojang AB’s Tommaso Checchi, writing in a recent Reddit thread, mentioned that the 3DS would have to settle for Minecraft: Pocket Edition – if it were to happen, that is.
Checci said that the a version for Nintendo’s portable would likely be based on the 0.8 version of Pocket Edition and would be “graphically downscaled”. On 3DS, Minecraft would also never offer infinite worlds.
3DS would never have infinite worlds though, AFAIK [as far as I know] it could at most get a graphically downscaled version of 0.8…
