Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

Capcom revealed today that shipments of Monster Hunter 4 Ulimate have topped 3 million since it’s Japanese release in October 2014. Included in these numbers are physical copies, eShop purchases and download cards. Not included in this total are copies of the original Monster Hunter 4, which sold 3 million copies in Japan alone.

For those of you that have wanted to get your hands on the Collector’s Edition of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, you’re in luck! As of the time of this writing, it is currently in stock and available on Gamestop‘s website

Capcom has a little something special planned for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Starting tomorrow and lasting until March 15, players can obtain a free item pack, which includes the following:

Mega Potion x50
Honey x30
Mega Dash Juice x15
Well-done Steak x30
Max Potion x10
Lifepowder x20
Ancient Potion x5
Flash Bomb x30
Sonic Bomb x30
Pitfall Trap x15
Shock Trap x15
Super Mushroom x6

You’ll need to download and install patch 1.1 from the eShop before you can nab the items above. Once done, go to “Your House”, talk to the “Housekeeper”, select “Downloadable Content” go to the “Gift Area” option, and then finally download the Starter Pack. Check your item box, and everything should be there!

Thanks to the Super Mushrooms, you can next make one set of Palico gear and choose between either Mario or Luigi. Instructions about how to proceed further are posted below.

Patches for two new retail games have been added to the European 3DS eShop. One for Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy+ is available now, with the Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate update coming soon. We’ll update this post if we hear about similar availability in North America.
