Rumor: New Nintendo Direct airing tomorrow
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Switch | 0 comments
For the past few years, fans have come to expect a new Nintendo Direct in September. Last year’s presentation during the month was noteworthy, as we received lengthy looks at previously-announced titles as well as some brand new games.
Speculation is now circulating that a Nintendo Direct will be airing very soon – in fact, possibly tomorrow. The presentation is rumored for 4 PM PT (September 6) / 7 PM ET (September 6) / 12 AM in the UK (September 7) / 1 AM in Europe (September 7).
Information about the Nintendo Direct appears to come from indie sources, indicating that we’d probably see an indie game or two during the broadcast. The rumor also stems from sources who accurately helped to predict Nintendo of Europe’s Indie Highlights video a few hours before it went live last month. Stay tuned.

Rumor: Indie-focused Nintendo Direct to air very soon

Gamescom 2018 is upon us, and that means a slew of new game announcements. It seems like Nintendo intends to get the ball rolling early this year as there might be a new indie-focused Nintendo Direct about to air.
Earlier today, we reported that the launch of Morphie’s Law on Nintendo Switch might be imminent. A couple of hours later, the game’s official Twitter account sent out the following tweet:
https://twitter.com/MorphiesLaw/status/1031451006507343872
What’s really interesting is that they weren’t the only indie developers/publishers teasing an announcement for 14:00 CEST today. There’s also FDG Entertainment, who released Blossom Tales and Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom:

The makers of puzzle game Baba Is You, which currently isn’t announced for Switch, also teased something for 14:00 CEST:
There'll be some really exciting news at 14:00 CEST today!

Of course, the perfect place to bundle so many indie game announcements would be a Nintendo Direct. The folks over at Nintendo Life claim that, according to “close sources of Nintendo Life”, a Nintendo Direct is indeed happening at that time.
As always, take rumors like these with a grain of salt as obviously nothing is set in stone yet, despite quite a few hints. Also, it’s probably best to temper your expectations and don’t expect any major first-party Nintendo news to come out of this. Either way, we should know for sure very soon.

Nintendo has sent out a press release recapping all of the details from today’s Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct. Find the full announcement below.
A legendary vampire hunter and a fan-favorite villain are joining the sprawling cast of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate game. In a Nintendo Direct video presentation entirely focused on the Nintendo Switch exclusive, it was revealed that Simon Belmont from the Castlevania series and King K. Rool, the main antagonist from the original Donkey Kong Country games, are both joining the game as playable fighters. In addition, the Nintendo Direct also shared additional information on Echo fighters, new stages, new modes and one of the most impressive collections of music ever in a single game, with more than 900 music tracks and 28 hours of music. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch on Dec. 7.
“Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is one of the biggest games Nintendo has ever released,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Between all the iconic fighters, stages and music, it’s the largest video game crossover ever produced – and nothing short of a Nintendo fan’s dream come true.”
