Hyrule Warriors Legends is out now in Japan. Over the next few days, we’re counting on a bunch of player footage to come online. Let’s start out with Linkle’s full intro, which you can see below.

Hyrule Warriors Legends has some new content, but not all of it is exclusive. Transferring over the latest characters is possible, for instance. Those who pick up the 3DS version can bring King of Hyrule, Toon Link, Linkle, Tetra, and Skull Kid to the original Wii U game.

Koei Tecmo showed a first look at these characters running on Wii U during a live stream today. We captured the relevant segment, and have that for you below.

If you’ve played Hyrule Warriors, you’re probably aware of the fact that a fairy speaks on Link’s behalf. This makes sense since he doesn’t talk in the Zelda games. But Toon Link, a new addition in Hyrule Warriors Legends, never had a fairy. The developers solved this issue with an interesting approach.

Aryll basically takes on the same role as the fairy for Toon Link. During battle, she’s able to speak for the legendary hero. This is done through the powers of the Pirate’s Charm. You can see this briefly in the video embedded below.

Hyrule Warriors Legends can now be pre-loaded on the Japanese 3DS eShop. To download the game, players need 16,109 blocks of free space (1.97GB). The overall download might be just slightly higher, but that’s pretty much how big Hyrule Warriors Legends is!
